Ziggy
I haven't posted in a long time and the forum looks very new and different!! I hope I'm not doing anything wrong or posting in wrong place... Just wanted to post some pictures of my ex-batts, as they are now, 5 months down the line... we let them out in the garden today and I couldn't believe how lovely they look... They were never in an awful state to start with, but still, the difference is striking, with rounder chooks, and lovely, beautiful, fluffy feathers all over... So I'd share them... Here's our lovely Pecky, looking beautiful Here is Lucky, looking so much better than she did, and all proud of herself And here is Pecky, surrounded by Mac and Nugget, our Omlet girls... that picture says it all... the size of her, and no bare patches... it's a heavenly sight... Unfortunately, Nicky didn't make it to be included... she'd have been quite a character!!

Lisa
They look lovely Can I ask what are the tags around their legs? I notice the omlet chickens have these two. Are they like a pet ID disc for chickens and did you put them on? If so where did you get them from? I have only had my girls for two days but would hate to be parted from them. Thanks Lisa

Ziggy
Thanks everyone. Lisa, the rings are just leg rings that helped us identify the chooks when we first got them... Pecky is quite darker than the others, but Mac and Nugget take some serious looking at to be identified, Nicky used to be of similar colouring to Pecky, and Lucky, once fully recovered from her ex-batt state, will be very similar to the omlets. So the coloured ring just immediately tells me which one it is I'm talking to!! There is no ID in them though, they're really just to help me and my daughter identify them. We got them online from Flyte So Fancy.
Sandychick
They look lovely Are they like a pet ID disc for chickens and did you put them on? If so where did you get them from? I have only had my girls for two days but would hate to be parted from them. ThanksLisa Although they are not ID tags, I think this is a great idea for any frequently escaping chickens! I'm sure you could put a contact phone number on the ring.

dancing cloud
Don't they look well and happy . So good to see ex-batts this way. I'm still waiting for mine to get fully-feathered and will definitely be there with the camera when they make it
