Steph101
I occasionally give mine a little bath (not all over, mainly bottom area) in a bowl of warm, soapy water with tea tree and lavender shampoo, following by a nice towel dry, bit of eucalyptus oil and vaseline on the legs maybe, and a good dusting of red mite powder. Inevitably, they look dirty after half an hour tramping round the garden, treading in their own poo , and it can be a bit of an ordeal with feisty birds like my black rocks; the gingernut rangers seem to lap it up, they love being pampered. Ofcourse they dust bathe, but I like to get the dirt off now and again. Am I bonkers? Do other people go to these lengths? (Maybe I should get out more.... )
Eggstatic!
I only wash bath one of mine and that is due to her managing to get poo all over her feathers at the back, I usually do it once a week unless needed more.
Egluntyne
I only give them a botty wash when needed. I keep a few special old cloths for the job. I caught Him Indoors washing his car with them the other day. I said nothing, but they won't be going near the hens again.

mrsallen08
NEVER! The only exception as many have said is botty but also my pekin needs her feathers cut and washed on her feet as they can get yucky in damp "Ooops, word censored!"py british weather! Gamebird
Annie has had her botty washed once but by the look of her posterier this morning she is about to have another one She's healthy enough but I think she has been blessed with too many feathers in that department so she periodically poos her pants. Chickvic
I've never washed or dried my girls. They manage with a dustbath. I do check that they are not dirty otherwise it would be bath time!
