Looney
Is anyone else sick to death of hearing about the US election campaigns every news bulletin? Why does it so often have the top news slot over news that is happening in the UK or other news that (in my opinion) is more relevant? Lesley
It certainly wouldn't happen the other way round Only 'til November though - isn't it? I hope!
Ain't Nobody Here
Fed up to the back teeth . Can't stand all the razzamatazz either .
Tessa the Duchess
Fed up to the back teeth . Can't stand all the razzamatazz either . I find it fascinating and revolting in equal measure. It is interesting seeing how 'they' run their elections in comparison with the way we do it. The razzamatazz is unbelievable, so undignified, and all those millions of $$$$ wasted just for show Tessa
Egluntyne
Such a waste of balloons.
Mutrix Farmers
Son said at the weekend "why do we have to put up with all this old rubbish every day" so he's fed up with it!! I just feel like it has gone on forever and I now don't care who gets in as long as it's over!!
Louise
It would be interesting to get a US view as they must be saturated over there Is it always like this I don't remember quite as much on UK TV before Hey Angels4
Tessa the Duchess
Is it always like this I don't remember quite as much on UK TV before I suspect the reason there is sooooo much coverage is that we have become increasingly aware of late that what happens 'over there' hugely effects what happens here, foreign policy. the economy etc., Also the unusual nature of the canditates, will America really have a black President?? Angels4
It would be interesting to get a US view as they must be saturated over there Is it always like this I don't remember quite as much on UK TV before Hey Angels4 I'm NOT very political and agree with much of what has already been said. I'm tired of it! I do hope to see some changes so I'm voting Obama, but I won't be holding my breath. I feel the whole process is a waste of money which could be spent in a much better way. Willow
I'm finding it interesting - I guess what happens in the US affects me more than most as for work I report directly into the US (home-worker where home is an awfully long way away from the office... ) Reading the Palin stories feels a bit like having a secret Jerry Springer fix. I'm hoping for an Obama win.
Looney
It is interesting to a certain extent....but I've seen and heard so much about it I feel as though I ought to have the right to vote!!!
laurmurf
I left the States 26 years ago and this is the first election I have registered to vote for! I think i still feel so guilty for NOT voting in the last one when Bush got in on a technicality (and a few missing votes) over Al Gore. I apologise to you all, the rest of the UK and the rest of the world for my negligence and the part it played in allowing that man to damage his own country and ours! The latest news about McCain and his choice of running mate frightens me even more - i think it's a real risk that they'll end up in the White House. Heaven help us all....and our lovely chucks! jackiepoppies
I would like Obama to win BUT I think there is a very real danger that he will be assassinated ?sp within a very short space of time and apart from the loss to his wife and kids, his country will have lost someone who might have made a difference. laurmurf
as you can see, Egluntine, i'm taking my responsibilty seriously... when you make a mistake, apologise, learn from it and move on!

Helly Welly
Whilst i agree that there is an awful lot of coverage, it is pretty important to us and the rest of the world who gets in. I really hope it's Obama I think people are realising that we don't just live in the UK, we live on the planet Earth and what happens elsewhere on the planet affects us all. After all, if Al Gore had won, we may not have had the war in Iraq and Afghanistan which has killed so many British soldiers. The US's environmental policy also has a big affect on all of us. Our elections wouldn't be so reported over there as the UK just doesn't have so much of an impact in world politics.
