KimmyCustard
Egluntine, Well thanks v much, that IS another contraption I could do with! OH knocked wax all over the carpet last week, I ironed it using greaseproof paper, but think a steamer would help! (esp on a cream carpet!). SO, apart from: crocs, a Terramundi, Roomba, chooks, Eglu and a steamer, is there anything else I cant live without?! (feels like I'm on the Generation Game!) Jackiex By the most amazing coincidence it is made by the same people who make the steam cleaner. No....it can't climb stairs unfortunately......but it does know when it has reached the edge and doesn't fall down them. You can read all about them and buy them **here**. You can also get them at John Lewis and Lakeland. The 530 and 560 are the best. The basic is very basic. SO, apart from: crocs, a Terramundi, Roomba, chooks, Eglu and a steamer, is there anything else I cant live without? A jam making pan and thermometer? Old Speckled Hen
Janepie33 wrote What is a Roomba? Blimey, I can't believe this! Advanced FeaturesAutomatically returns to its self-charging Home Base to dock and recharge between cleanings. Each Virtual Wall® Lighthouse™ (2 included) confines Roomba to one room until the entire floor is vacuumed before Roomba moves on to the next room. On-board scheduling — preset up to seven cleaning times per week for Roomba to clean when it's most convenient for you You mean you can set the thing to clean the house while you are out then it puts itself to bed? Wonderful!!!
Egluntyne
You mean you can set the thing to clean the house while you are out then it puts itself to bed? Wonderful!!! Yes! It has set my burglar alarm off a couple of times though so I only let it loose if someone is in the house now. Treat yourself to one ..... they are life transforming. WitchHazel
My Roomba is called Raymond (or Raymondo actually, as Ashes to Ashes was on when I got him). I have the 560, and for me it's the scheduling capability that tips the balance. He goes off and cleans our downstairs while we are asleep. He's very noisy though, it took about a week before I could sleep through it. Iempty his bin and filter every morning, and I'm always amazed at how much stuff he picks up. I mean, he does it every night and STILL there's a mountain of pet hair in there. I clean the brushes once a week, more often if the cats have been moulting heavily or if I've been brushing them. For me, it's like the benfits of a dishwasher or a washing machine. You could do it much faster yourself, but the point is he does it while you're doing something else, and he probably makes a better job of it. abwsco
I've decided I want one as my Christmas present. How sad is that Thing is I have a perfectly good Miele which shows no sign of breaking after nearly 14 years so hubby won't let me go and buy one. Makro have them in at £149.99 + vat btw.
