Mother of all thunderstorms!

Recommended Posts

We have just rumbly thunder but we did get a two and a half hour powercut! It took out all the local villages and both Shipston and Stratford. Kenilworth, where Carl is, was OK

Didn't it know I was in the forum catching up? - I've got no red arrows now and am having to trawl through last night and this morning's posts :(

We had lots of rain last night and this morning Emily's school is closed it got flooded at the weekend and now one of the flat roofs has collapsed under the weight of all the water so the school is closed until further notice, we could hear children all over Lymm cheering last night, and parents groaning...................:lol::lol:

The whole village was flooded last night, rivers of water were running into the centre, we were OK because we live in the higher part of Lymm, phew............

 It was awful at school today. Cricket match off!

First lesson: Lightning practically outside of the window, roof panels being sucked off by wind and power.

Second Lesson: Couldn't focus because of loud bangs, and shaking projector.

All other lesson: Raining.

Also the classroom my brother was in was hit by lightning and the radiator blew up!

Clare, my husband has just told me he has been given a pink umbrella (! ) It made me think of you!

He was given a lastminute.com goodie bag on the way to work this morning. This is what it has in it:

It's got a copy of Happy magazine, with a free (pink) umbrella,

25 green tea bags, a bag of aquadrops, a sample self-tanning cream,

another of daily lip conditioner, a nut bar and a man's razor.

I'm looking forward to sampling some of those things! :D

Anyone else having a thunder storm?

We've got huge really loud and long claps of thunder, bright flashes of lightning and torrential rain. The chickens are terrified and their tails are right down. Poor things!

We had storms yesterday morning and evening - I think Migsy hid in the eglu, but with all the sunshading on the run, you can't see much from the house :(

The kittens were turned totally hyper by the weather, like kids after bingeing on sweets and fizzy drinks - they chased one another round the house at high speed until they eventually flopped from exhaustion
