Could you help me fight crime?- all analyzed now, thanks!!!

Recommended Posts

Mine is now in a sealed bag ready to post! Don't think I will get to town todaythough.

I wore an old t-shirt so Veronika can just throw it away when she has finished with it.

Embarrassingly I managed to get it grubby - I think I smeared pesto sauce on it, amongst other things

Are you in a tearing hurry for them? We're away for a week for half-term from Saturday so plan to wear my t-shirt at work when I get back.

Don't worry, I am just going to start with my examinations next week and I shall continue working on the tops till Christmas. So if it comes later, that is also fine as long as I get it lets say, by mid November. Thanks!

Tina :D That is fine. I was wearing a top for my schoolmate for another experiment yesterday and managed the same  Also, pesto stains are nothing believe me (some of my schoolmates are asking for dirty underwear :anxious:)

Please please please, everybody who promissed to help, keep on sending!

I will need to start the examinations very soon and need the tops ready as it might take several weeks to go through them. I need to do this before the bean is born (mid January) since then I will be rather occupied with nappies and things for some time

I could help! Let me know what to do.

By the way - how will you get the samples out of the material? Will you wash them? Or just sample visible deposits?

To answer your question, I shall use a special sticky tape to take any non-visible deposits of (all over the top) and then run it through scaning electron microscope to see what is on them.

I will wash the tops after I did this and then give them to charity fresh and as new ;-)

I'm sorry i haven't sent the top yet, OH forgot to wear it to work today  He'll be going in on Tuesday. He wants to know if you want a top he's been wearing when he's welding? He reckons it may have interesting particles on. Or does it have to be work only?

Helen, any one day of wear and any location works, but the welding bussines seems like a great idea. As long as you won't forget to write it into the questionare please

Thanks!

I've washed an old top of Ethan's today, so that I know what kind of powder it has been washed in for the questionnaire!

Is one of his tops ok for the experiment, or does it have to be an adult's one?

I planned for him to wear it tomorrow so that I can post it to you on Monday.

Jules, I would prefer if it was an adult top if I may be picky  This experiment is relating to mainly adult (possibly late teenage) crime. Hope it won't be a problem for you
