Do your eat raindrops??????

Recommended Posts

I find this sooo funny!!

When it rains my girls go mad pecking the raindrops off the mesh of the run!!

It's as if they think it's tasty bugs or something!

Does anyone else see this behaviour??

I agree, they MUST taste nicer! My girls are quite put out as I have covered their run with corrigated plastic sheets in the attempt to keep them dry and they can see the rain drops but when they try to peck at them they don't seem to realise that the drops are on the other side!

Back when we actually had some dry weather (There WAS some - honest) back in July I'd water some of the crusty bits of dry lawn. As it pools on top before sinking in the girls would fight over who gets to drink from it. Funny. You'd think we weren't providing any for them in their run!

Mine will peck water droplets off of anything. Last year we had left the sledge outside and all you could hear was the incessent tapping of beaks pecking the water off.

They also love a nice green slime water cocktail, especially if it's collected on the dips in the patio on which they poo. Hoenstly, it makes you wonder why we make such a fuss over cleaning their house and making sure they have fresh water everyday. Mine are also happy to eat the contents of the compost bin, they'll dive in there if i've just added some mouldy peelings to it :vom:
