Guest
I find this sooo funny!! When it rains my girls go mad pecking the raindrops off the mesh of the run!! It's as if they think it's tasty bugs or something! Does anyone else see this behaviour?? Louise
Purplemaniacs
Yes ours do it too, you would think that they don't have water in their glug Chrissie

Ange1
I agree, they MUST taste nicer! My girls are quite put out as I have covered their run with corrigated plastic sheets in the attempt to keep them dry and they can see the rain drops but when they try to peck at them they don't seem to realise that the drops are on the other side! jomaxsmith
Mine peck at the raindrops on the patio door, which always makes me jump! Jo
Carol U
Mine do all of above too, but their absolute favourite is raindrops or dewdrops which have run down a dirty old fence!
Mutrix Farmers
Mine will spends ages pecking the rain drops off the Omlet netting. They also love the green slimy water in the birdbath, and prefer their glug water with a dash of bark chippings and mud!!!!
stoice
Back when we actually had some dry weather (There WAS some - honest) back in July I'd water some of the crusty bits of dry lawn. As it pools on top before sinking in the girls would fight over who gets to drink from it. Funny. You'd think we weren't providing any for them in their run! piptiddlepip
Mine love to drink out of dips in tarp and seed trays that have collected water, though they have an enormous water feeder in their run
Helly Welly
Mine will peck water droplets off of anything. Last year we had left the sledge outside and all you could hear was the incessent tapping of beaks pecking the water off. They also love a nice green slime water cocktail, especially if it's collected on the dips in the patio on which they poo. Hoenstly, it makes you wonder why we make such a fuss over cleaning their house and making sure they have fresh water everyday. Mine are also happy to eat the contents of the compost bin, they'll dive in there if i've just added some mouldy peelings to it
chickencam
Mine peck water droplets where ever they are and also drink any nasty water that has gathered Mine also peck around the Eglu door at bedtime, you know when they are thinking about going to bed because you can hear a gentle knocking sound
