I've had mine 5 months and certainly wouldn't swap it :D The hens are happy and secure, and the plastic is very easy to keep clean, especially with a jet washer. Looks good too :D

A work colleague bought a very beautiful-looking wooden hen house when I bought my cube and is now complaining about how difficult it is to keep clean, how cold it will be in winter and how her OH is whinging about having to paint it again in spring to keep it all waterproof. I tried very hard not to look smug :liar:

On Monday your hens are going to be very lucky little girls indeed :D

I agree with the other posts. I adore mine, Not just because they look good but are soooo practical

Hardly takes any time to clean out. You can hose out the insides completely, can't say enough good about them.

Struggled with red mite in my old coop and now its hardly present at all, and hopefully a few really cold frosts will sort the rest out!

Money well spent, thats what I say.

i have an eglu and was thinking about getting a cube.I have read about you all putting it up yourselves, but thought that the delivery chap would do that.how or what do you do to get it put up by them? :o

If you order Omlet chickens, they will put it together for you. If it's delivered by courier (if you're outside the delivery area) then you have to put it together yourself.

I didn't order chickens, but the delivery driver did assemble mine - I think it partly depends where you live. Why not give Omlet a call, and ask - they'll explain it.

I love my Cube, wouldn't swap it for anything - my only regret is that it doesn't look quite as cool as the Eglu, I loved the funky shape of them but the Cube is bigger, easier to clean and my girls love it.

We currently have a wooden coop and it is a nightmare to clean, think we will upgrade to a cube too,

only thing is are the runs big enough for girls to be in all the time? was thinking of getting two to three more hens, have three already but wouldnt want them to be squished up and unhappy!!

I recommend getting a run extension with the Cube - it makes it look more 'balanced' somehow, as Gallina has posted elsewhere, and it gives quite a bit of extra space.

I have four hens in a Cube with one extension, at this time of year they are in there all day long during the week, and most of the weekends and they seem fine.

I put plenty of aubiose down and keep the run covered as much as possible to keep the floor dry. My hens seem fine in there.
