France!

Recommended Posts

Hi guys

We are looking at where to go for our summer holiday next year, so i have said i would love to go to France. The question is where?

We want some where fairly cheap, but still nice. We are looking at maybe the south of france, maybe like st tropez or Nice.

Any opinions would be nice! Thanks guys!:D

one of my best friends moved to south west France 2 years ago. She moved to a lovely beachside location about an hour away from Bordeaux, called Lacanau Ocean. The beaches are fantastic and the pathways to the beach are in pine forests so you can cycle to the beach.

Before she moved there she went on her holidays there every year and stayed in a mobile home/chalet and with the ferry and accommodation for 2 weeks it costed her less than £800 for a family of 4

She owns a holiday home there now...so if you are interested..

We stay a lot in the East and South East, the lakes are very nice, the food is excellent (not to mention the wine) and the people are friendly and helpful.

We love to stay at the L'Abbaye de Talloires hotel on lake Annecy which is wonderful and worth every penny  the suites are luxurious! the hotel has an outlook of mountains and the glittering lake and is just a world away from normal life :D

Chamonix is very nice too, we stayed in a log cabin hotel there and awoke to the clang of cow bells - that hotel was a very reasonable £40 a night for two of us

The area around Strasbourg is very pretty and has lots of Black Forest influence - lots of very pretty towns and villages

We get most of our hotels through this website and have never had a bad one yet! I can't recommend them enough.

The journey from Calais - Dunkirk on Norfolkline is comfortable and stress free and if you go in the middle of the night you can get a crossing very cheaply (we usually pay less than £30 for us and the car) and stay in the Formula 1 hotel the other end for about £20 for a room that sleeps 3 the bathrooms are down the hall but automatically disinfected after each use, cheap and cheerful :D (they dont mind if you arrive in the middle of the night either) then you can start your drive in France refreshed after a nights sleep!

Of course if the journey is cheap you have more money to spend at the L'Abbaye! (Just don't let OH see the bill)

Sorry about the long post but I love France!

Edited to say.. Just remembered you are a youngster - better sweet talk your parents!
