Just seen an advert for the Now 71 album How did that happen?

 

I remember the first NOW albums..... aaarrrggghh I feel old!

I actually found the 1st one the other day when I was clearing some stuff out.!

 

I didnt know it had reached 71 either!

yes and getting really annoyed when they carried on talking over the start of the song ro started talking before it finished so you couldn't cut them off without cutting off part of the song

And I must agree that the music was better back then too

and making your own taped radio programs ( roller radio ours was called). All the artists were me & my sis singing to chart songs & we did our own adverts. Anyone remember Bejams? It was the name of iceland when it first opened. We had great ads & one for Wilma windows! We also sang coca cola adverts - the first time, first love song. (like the very first time)

I can remember buying Now 14 years ago.

 

I used to tape The Charts programme on a Sunday evening...can't remember what it was called now...with Alan Freeman. Irritating man used to talk over the music.

DH and I are always commenting on Now albums increasing in numbers.

 

Didn't they used to have a pig advertising them with glasses on? Or am I completely barking mad with a defective memory??!!

 

As for recording the top 40- my parents used to call it "pick of the pops" . I still have cassettes with bad recordings of the "hit parades" of the 80s with Bruno Brookes ruining most of the songs by talking over them!!

We've got the original Now on vinyl, i'm hoping it will be worth something one day. I think they bring out more albums per year than they used to, hence why we are up to 71. My first cassette of my very own was Now 16 which i got for Christmas with my first cassette player. Oh and Rick Astley's album I never asked for it, i wonder what possessed my brother when he thought that was a good choice of present.

When I saw the advert the other day I wondered how many people have all of them? Can't believe they're on number 71 though, they must release 3 or more per year to have reached that.

I saw an advert for this the other day and it made me feel really old. I think a lot of things make me feel old now that I'm an age which I remember my parents being and I remember thinking how old they were!
