Ain't Nobody Here
I spend hours each weekend standing at the side of rugby and football pitches and my feet get really, really cold . Has anyone ever tried heat pads for feet? I've been on the internet looking for some and the only ones I can find are ones that only last a certain amount of time (I want a reusable one) or reusable ones that take a lot of faffing about after each use. Is there a wheat bag that you can put in the microwave? I've not found one yet .
bluekarin
I'm sure there is something about like that. Have you tried camping/ outdoor type shops? I bought my hubby some re-heatable hand warmers from Millets. I'll have a look tomorrow and let you know if I see anything.
clootie
Any good ANH? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Heat-Click-Instant-Re-Useable-Colours/dp/B000Z7F5RQ
Egluntyne
'Appen you need a pair of Uggs.
Ain't Nobody Here
Thanks Clootie, I saw those on Ebay too. Being a bit lazy, I know the novelty of having to boil them after each use would wear off fairly soon . Also they look a bit like what is normally attached to a catheter . Egluntine, Uggs would be lovely but both pitches are often inches deep in mud so if I had nice boots they'd get ruined (I often wear wellies, hence the frozen tootsies ). stoice
How about a fur liner for your wellies? Or these look rather funky
Goosey Lucy
OH bought me a pair of warming insoles for my boots last year. They run on batteries so we used rechargeable ones, the batteries are in a case which is held in place around the top part of your calf with velcro/wide elastic. They don't look very pretty but they did keep my feet warm I think he got them from Maplin.
..lay a little egg for me
I always wear walking boots for standing on the side-lines. Their thick soles means I am a couple of inches off the ground and it makes a big difference. However, I have been thinking of investing in a heated vest (runs off batteries) to wear under my coat. I think that keeping one's core warm helps with the feet too. I believe you can get the vests from Maplin, like the warming insoles Goosey Lucy describes. I may have to get the 'fur' hat out for this weekend if the weather forecast turns out to be right!
clootie
Also they look a bit like what is normally attached to a catheter . Actually, if I'm honest, I did wonder if they came in other colours apart from urine! You can get these microwavable lavender slipper boots but I'm just thinking you wouldn't get your wellies on over them unless, of course, you bought wellies 3 sizes up but then you'd fall over in the mud and ruin your fleece, your hair, your jeans, your gloves and worse still, spill your hot chocolate so, back to the drawing board............. Ever thought of a lifesize cardboard cut-out for such occasions?
jackiepoppies
I bought DS some really thick socks that ran ao rechargeable batteries. Really toasty. Think it was Millets or a similar type camping shop. Good luck Jackiex
Tessa the Duchess
ANH, when I had a market stall years ago I wore things called Moon Boots. They are hideously ugly and very clompy but they keep your feet really warm even in the coldest temps. I googled and they still sell them, why don't you have a look, I can guarantee them Tessa

Moon boots? Thanks, Tessa, I'll check them out . I need something for Christmas! I like the sound of battery operated insoles too .
clootie
The moon boots are brilliant. I forgot about those. You will feel no chill at all through those things !! Not the most attractive attire but hey, who cares? Toasty feet win hands down !!
Ain't Nobody Here
Done a bit of research and have found some boots I like the look of (I could do with a warm pair of boots with good grips for icy pavements and snow ). Not sure I could get on with moon boots - they are particularly clumpy looking . Never bought a pair of shoes or boots online before . Anyone come across any of these before? Olang Patty snow boots Rucanor KINARA Winter Snow Boots Rucanor HAVANA Faux Sheepskin Boots Is faux sheepskin a good idea? Would the real stuff be warmer? Also found these heat pack wheat bags which look great but I can't find out how long they stay warm for .
clootie
The second ones look lovely !! ANH, don't be fooled by how these moon boots look - they are as light as a feather. What size are you and I'll send you mine to try if you like!! I wore them in Italy - roasty toasty.
Tessa the Duchess
The second ones look lovely !! ANH, don't be fooled by how these moon boots look - they are as light as a feather I agree, they are clumpy but weigh almost nothing. They have an inner sock thingy liner which you can take out and wash. Don't put vanity before warmth and don't come crying to us when you till have cold feet and maybe even chillblains (only joking) Tessa

Ain't Nobody Here
After rugby this morning and 2 frozen feet I think I want a pair of these . No mention of how long they stay warm for though . And would they fit inside my wellies? Microwaveable_slippers Still keen to get boots that I can wear to work if it's bad weather so might get a nice looking pair of boots plus something to put inside my wellies . Thanks for all the ideas/advice .
