Snow

Recommended Posts

Still waiting for Natalie to get up :roll: so we can go sledging. The Castle has been busy with sledging families all morning and now most of the snow there has gone with all the sledging.

The Yorkshire girls are loving the snow but the Banties are staying inside the run.

It was very cold up by us last night and we had a sprinkling of snow. My girls had a quick play out but they soon went back into their warm dry run :lol: .

Shirley and Dolly venture out.

Then they ran back inside to warm their feet and have brekky.

Only Shirley the brave has ventured out for the rest of the day.

At least all the chooks are braver than both mogs who have taken one look outside and have retreated to the warmest bits of the sofas.

Our ladies were not amused :!: Ventured out for breakfast then went back to their eglu for the rest of the morning :!: Only came out again for a brief foray, carefully avoiding all contact with the white stuff. Our poor ex batts :!: Not really geared up for Scottish winters :( esp since Boris is mid moult. Poor thing. Allisonx

Lovely pics :D . What a long run you have :shock:8) . Is that a converter plus an extension?

Yes, I added both those on when we went from 2 to 4 girls. I felt it was only fair to them, even though they are rarely shut in just in just the run, they can usually go out to play within the omlet netting and within range of the foxwatch.

Brrr. Mostin does foxwatch affect your cats?

No, not at all. Much to their disgust :lol: we have tested it alot by making them run across in front of it and set it off, but they've never even flicked an ear.

I'm so glad as I would not use it otherwise, as I would never upset such pampered pussies.

We let the girls free range within the omlet netting everyday while we are out, but only because the foxwatch is monitoring them. There is no way to prove it works until the day it doesn't :( . So we are just crossing our fingers and hoping it does, as it means the girls get far more freedom, especially in these darker days.

We had snow, not a lot but its gone now, its still freezing though. Because the girls have the walk in run they dont really care.

The cats on the other hand spent most of their day indoors, out the cat flap 'whats this' :shock: ' im not staying out here' back in cat flap and onto bed , i really wish I was one of my cats .

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

I love that about cats. I especially love the specially walk they do if they ever get as far as being in the snow, when they shake every foot every time they lift it. It always makes me laugh, and you know how much they hate being laughed at :lol: .
