AVG on my PC constantly shows "update manager disabled". It's only just started doing this. My laptop is fine .

 

I've tried going into "components" and "update manager" but whatever I change it to disappears.

 

There doesn't seem to be an option for update manager in "advanced settings".

 

I'm having to update manually every single day (sometimes more than once) which is a total pain .

 

Any ideas? Fred ?

That's odd it's happening to us both . Do you have any other computers in the house - are they the same?

Mines fine. Have you tried looking on the AVG free forum?

AVG is now not the best free antivirus anymore. Download AntiVir instead. But delete AVG before installing AntiVir.

I have AVG on the lappy and it seems to be runnning fine. If you're having problems and want to keep AVG, then I'd suggest taking it off and re-downloading it.

Mines fine and when i had a problem in the past i deleted then down loaded it again and all fine here

I had that problem throughout October ANH. I contacted AVG and unusually they took ages to reply as they are so busy, but they sent me details on how to fix it. that didn't work (reloading it) so they sent me something else and now it's fine.

Carl never got on with AVG so he ditched it in favour of F-Secure (which isn't free)

I have to update mine every day too. I didn't when i had an older version, but since i downloaded a newer AVG i have had to do it manually.

Yup, tried that. No good . I'm happy to give Antivir a go so have downloaded it.
