I know in the summer u can leave the door open but wat about in the winter

it really is a personal decision. Some members keep their doors open all year round. When its minus something though in the winter they will be a lot toastier with it closed!

 

I close mine all year round as I have noisy chickens, so they get let out at an appropriate time.

 

If you are prone to foxes though it is better to close the door at night - the eglu isnt fox proof if the door is open.

I close the doors every night. I have tried leaving them open but my brahmas shout for their porridge at unreasonable hours if allowed out when they feel like. I'd rather get up at six and plan to rather than get woken up an hour or so earlier.

I leave my doors open every night and they seem fine....it means they can come out early in a morning....

I am not an early riser so I leave the eglu door open all year round, my girls are fine, even in this chilly weather.

I always close the door as chickens don't deal well with draughts... cold and draughty is not good for them IMO.

In the summer, we do occasionally leave it open.
