Bantambabe
Don't know if there are any other ER fans out there. Bad enough that the last ever series started last night, but I spent almost all of it at the desperate attempts to save Pratt. Very pathetic I know, but even driving out to the farm shop thinking about it this morning I was welling up (it's only a program for goodness sake! ) - couldn't help it. The image of a tear rolling down his cheek as he realised how serious and hopeless his situation was. I know it's not always been as good over the last few years as back in the Anthony Edwards/George Clooney heyday, but last night was close. Debs Thank goodness OH got the time wrong and appeared at 10 to watch it (he'd missed it) I would have felt a right lemon blubbing with him there. Cinnamon
I saw it too, & it was heartbreaking, wasn't it? Beautifully acted though.
Aunty e
I'm glad I didn't watch it. I would have been hysterical. I may have to stay away from ER until the old hormones calm down.
Cinnamon
Good odea Auntye Hormones? - is there good news on the way then? I am looking forward to Carters return , & maybe a glimpse of swooney Clooney too

Bantambabe
Corday is back for something too - although that might be in the flashback with Anthony Edwards I suppose. Eyes just about not feeling puffy this afternoon!
bluekarin
I am a huge ER fan and was sobbing away when they were trying to save him. Especially with that tear going down his cheek I was hiding my face as OH was watching it too. Pratt was such a cool character and it is such a shame he has been written out. I am not too fussed about Clooney coming back in as he wasn't one of my faves. Much preferred Dr Green (mucho sobbing when he died) and Carter. I have watched ER since the beginning and am going to be very sad when it ends

Seagazer
Oh no! I knew I shouldn't have read this thread without watching the episode first!! I love Dr Pratt, oh well I shall have a hankie ready to watch. I must admit I got a bit annoyed with the advert for the series as you could tell that Abbie had survived. I am absolutely gutted that this is the last series. I too have watched it from the beginning and I think it is one of my all time favorite series. There have been so many good episodes with hardly a duff one. So many times we've sat there and gone 'OMG' as something shocking happens. I look forward to seeing Dr Green and Carter too. Dr Green was always so nice and calm. Clooney never did much for me, I was always shouting at him to put his head up I think I may well have to invest in the dvds (I have most of The West Wing and have just started rewatching). I do have Grey's Anatomy to watch as well though and Casualty
SarahJo
Phew - not alone either then - I cried too . I liken it to at least having empathy - even if its not real. Mind you if someone starts crying in front of me, I well up too

Bantambabe
Seagazer, can I suggest several hankies - I think I got through 5 "mansize" tissues
Seagazer
Gulp - sounds like I need a glass of wine as well
SarahJo
Seagazer - copious amounts of wine would be advised - I will watch again with OH as I had to watch quietly in bed last night as on my own, and boys asleep Mind you low sound may have made it LESS cryable , and I still blubbed
Janty
I really wanted to watch this. I too have watched the series from the first episode. I can't wait for second chance Sunday, if they still do it so I will watch it here : http://www.channel4.com/video/er/catchup.html
bluekarin
Yup, it's definately a glass of wine and several tissues episode. I however, only had the wine, so had to use my sleeve to wipe away my tears.
Ms Marple
HELP!!!! I missed it out at parents'evening. I watched the series 4 last episode double bill of Grey's on Living+. What channel was it on? Can I catch it again? I love American medical dramas. ER was my favourite until Grey's Anatomy came along. I still love it though. I can't remember where it left Abby and Luka? I'd love Carter to return.

Love Luka, has anyone seen him in Practical Magic? He plays a baddie.
Guest
Damn blast and bother I didnt' know this was starting and I MISSED IT When is it on again???? Mark Greene died listening to a recording of "over the rainbow" although it wasn't the Eva Cassidy version that we played at Dad's funeral it still had me crying buckets. I've not seen a single trailer for this series which shows how little I watch C4 and E4 nowdays.

The Over the Rainbow in ER was sung by Israel Kamakawiwo`ole. Such a beautiful version that had me in floods. edited by bluekarin for being such a dullard and putting Monday when its obviosuly on a Thursday Edited January 9, 2009 by Guest
Bantambabe
Ah yes, now you mention it the half bottle of wine I'd had with dinner might have influenced the blubbing! I've just looked it up in Radio Times, and it's on Thursday 9pm on More4 (Freeview channel 14) and then repeated Monday 11.40 also on More4 Last series left Abby & Luka having just decided to try to work it out and deciding they would leave Chicago for Boston.
