Guest
I don't know about anyone else, but sometimes I think it's useful to have somewhere to try things out like different sized fonts and colours. It's also useful to try out different emoticons. So can we use this one for that?
The Dogmother
Let's try to get an image in this post....

Mrs Frugal
You've not got jpg at the end! I don't think the whole of the url address has copied and pasted properly. It should end with .jpg
The Dogmother
Oh, I copied everything that was in the address box - dunno then

The Dogmother
How'd you do that then smartie-pants? None of them seem to have .jpg at the end!
Mrs Frugal
I opened the picture, right clicked on it as the address in the top bar wasn't complete for some reason. When you right click on it, a menu comes up. Find the url address (starts http and ends .jpg), highlight the lot and click copy then paste into the posting box, highlight the lot again and click the Img button and voila! chocchick
How do I do a link to a website without showing the URL-i.e. if I were to type link so that when you clicked on the blue text it went to a link? I can just paste in the URL and that works but it is not as pretty, and I can't get HTML to work. I've noticed there is a URL button but don't know how to use it. To link to another post, do you just paste in the URL?
Mrs Frugal
It's a bit complicated to explain but you need to paste the link... www.whateveryourlinkis.co.uk then add the following..... behind the link followed by...... without the * followed by Whatever you want your fancy link to say followed by and that should work. In summary, it should look like this but without the asterisks which are only there to stop the link from working - don't leave a space where they were either! Whatever you want your fancy link to say[/color*]
Lesley
Kate - doesn't it need at the end of everything? so, it should look like this Whatever you want your fancy link to say[/color*] _________________

chocchick
I'm still impressed. I finally got my head round it by starting with the finished thing with asterisks then reading the first bit again. Long live the superpants.
