I wasn't sure where to post this, or whether it had in fact been suggested previously.

 

I just decanted my Poultry Spice into a flour shaker - works a treat!

Flour shakers are very handy, I recently bought 2 cheap ones to use for Diatom and StalosanF, at the advice of a fellow omleteer

Never thought of this either - been using a spoon . I'll keep a look-out for flour shakers as this sounds much better

this place is terrible for my pocket i found two enamel flour shakers on ebay for £1.04 lol cheap though, good idea Pat & steve

How much poultry spice should chickens have and is there a time when you dont give them any?

i put some in their feed and sometimes chuck some in with their treats too.

On the yellow tin it says one teaspoon per 10 chooks so I give my 2 about 1/5 to 1/4 of a teaspoon daily, sprinkled on top of their porridge.

 

You can give a bit more in the cold weather but when I took Skye to the vet I asked him about additives and supplements etc., and he said not to bother with it in the Summer just give it to them in the Winter, especially when they are going thru a moult.

I couldn't find a flour shaker when I was looking for one, so I got a cheap, screw lidded plastic beaker instead, and perforated the lid several times with a hot skewer. I use it for sprinkling diatom & stalosan.
