According to the article M&S and Co-op have also stopped selling battery eggs already. All a move in the right direction
chelsea
Great news think they could do it a bit quicker than 2012 though Their "Taste the Difference" range already has free range egg in it. Its their basics you have to watch.

Tessa the Duchess
Great. Maybe Asda and Tesco will be shamed into following their example. Tessa

Tessa the Duchess
Tesco have no shame I tend to agree Poet. My son's girl friend went to Tesco late last night to buy party food for my grandson's party today, they were selling packets of 6 scotch eggs for 10p It really upset me, I am going to the party but I doubt I will eat anything. Guest
can you imagine the quality of the meat for that price, never mind the eggs hope you enjoy the party and that they have something you can eat
Tessa the Duchess
can you imagine the quality of the meat for that price, never mind the eggs hope you enjoy the party and that they have something you can eat Admittedly they were reduced because they will be out of date by tomorrow, but even so..... The party was just as I expected a room full of hyperactive children and babies, screaming solidly for 2 hours, at least "Ooops, word censored!"ody was sick I had a cheese straw and a Jaffa Cake Tessa
sandyhas3chucks
BUT they will only stop using battery eggs in their products by 2012 when they won't be able to be produced anyway.(Publicity stunt!) Only a little pat on back for Sainsburys. Long way to go to catch Waitrose & co op
Lesley
BUT they will only stop using battery eggs in their products by 2012 when they won't be able to be produced anyway.(Publicity stunt!) If I remember rightly.....this country won't be able to produce eggs from caged hens.....but other countries will, and this country will not be prevented from importing them?
