my new babies are here!!!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

Well we've got them with a bit of a change to the list.

Light sussex - Peppa (the pig)

Light Suxxex - Molly

Silver sussex - Lola (charlie && Lola)

Amber lee - Daisy (the mouse)

Goldline - Dora (the explorar)

Bovan's nera - Doris

I was a little frustrade that I couldn't have a bluebelle or Maran Cuivree but the children are thrilled with their selection. I'm som happy we once again have hens in the garden.

I've closed of the nesting area in a hope they don't learn bad habits. So just off to put them all in the cube. (cube purple)

I guess you can all tell from the names that the children chose them

congratulations :D , chook choosing is wonderfully therapeutic I feel, I was having a lousy day last monday and then went to choose two more girlies and wham a smile appeared! :)

I know what you mean, the whole family are in and out of the garden and my 8 year old hasn't left the run since they arrived.

Took ages for them to come out. I was going to leave them in the cube for at least an hour but all hell broke loose so after 5 minutes I opened the door.

The goldline was first out and wasn't joined for 20 minutes. Shes very loud, letting everyone know she's arrived. So far the problems seem to be with the the BN and the GL

I haven't finished doing the extension but they seem happy enough so i'm just going to have to finish it off Monday.

So pleased I got the silver sussex she's stunning.

My camera is bust but my neighbour who is just as eggcited is going to take some for me.

Well all went to bed without any real issues. Just checked on them (can't help myself) and the next box is empty and no one perching on top, so fingers cross it will be the same everynight.

Going to be up early in the morning. :D

Congratulations!

I bet Nibley was veryyy busy today? I had to pop down there at about 11.00 for some corn and had a chat with Phillipa and she said that she has had loads of calls asking about hens and that they are getting very popular and I mentioned I thought the omlet eglu has been a contributor to the success of keeping chickens. I know we have had many a discussion on here about wooden houses vs eglus and she said she would choose an eglu any day over wooden houses for her chickens but they are quite expensive.

Can't wait to see some photos!

Tom

We must have just missed you.

I was there with two of my young children. The children loved it when they saw the red eglu.

It did seem busy, there were people there when we arrived , some whilst we were picking our hens and as we were leaving some more people turned up.

Although a different set up to Annie's it was nice for the children to pick the hens they wanted. The family who's bird farm it is were really friendly and helpful. I would go back again.
