Omleteers are A Bad Influence

Recommended Posts

for years I've put everyone else's needs before my own and patiently waited for birthdays and xmas to get a few luxuries

since I joined these forums I've resolutely not read threads promoting Omlet 'must haves'... :shameonu:

and then.... in the last seven days I've commissioned the making of TWO bags, I've shamelessly ordered Naked for myself (it helped that there was a 50% off code :D )and I have even put myself on Lesley's list for a red Joanna Lumley hat :|

then today I went out to buy some yarn and came back without yarn but with a bagful of books, other bits and pieces (this is where it gets  ) and a cardigan...

I didn't need the cardigan, I went in to see if they had any nice sensible jackets in their 50% off sale for those windy days out in the shires

on top of that the cardigan is PINK :|

GIRLY PINK

I don't DO pink

so aren't you lot ashamed of yourselves?

 I can empathise with the pink thing ...

I don't do pink, it doesn't suit me and I am the farthest from a girlie girl you can imagine. But in a house full of men I think my hormones are rebelling (the chickens help) and I do sometimes catch myself coveting something just a little bit pink and sparkly

oh fowlbird you totally crack me up! I too have made recent forays into pink, well I have one Boden shirt which doesn't fit me... I have severe issues with pink but am trying to get over them!

Oh the other topic I'm try to go the other way with regard to spending, I never denied myself anything, of course my anythings were books & medieval clothing so not exactly high street shopping.

Pink is 8) - as long as it's not baby pink!

My Mum dressed me and my slightly younger sister as twins - she always wore a blue version of everything and I always had red. I wanted blue......or at least pink :(

I've only gone over to proper pink in the last few years - must be a hormonal thing Snowy!

My daughter was never into pink and when she had Lauren she didn't really dress her in pink very often. Lauren never was a girly girl until recently she took a liking to Barbie! She does like my favourites - deep pink and purple - though 8)

At least with Omlet must-haves we're all buying things we know are good value, will work properly and are usually in just the right colours!

that's it!

I thought it was because I've been so ill on and off all winter and this was a kind of therapy but now I see - it's THE IAN FACTOR at work. You might think he's just dosing in the armchair, Poet, but he's doing it again because just a few minutes ago I ordered a V-neck, an anorak and a fleece from the Cotton Trader's website

we used to live in Co. Meath, I was in and out of Dublin/TCD all the time - have I seen you in the Grafton St area in the mid 90s?

of course, if it wasn't you then I apologise...

Fowlbird, I would love to wear pink but it just doesn't suit me.

Now I feel the need to go out and buy a pink top, just to check. :sigh:

I will add "Pink top" to the list of things I want but haven't bought. Yet.

there are so many shades of pink though, this is a soft pink which I thought would never suit me but it does...

still, our skin tone changes as we age doesn't it?
