4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

We've had our Eglu since March last year and we love it! Our first two chickens were Mrs Miggins and Mrs Bennett. Mrs B started laying quite early on and produced some whoppers, but unfortunately they were so large that she developed an impacted oviduct. possibly egg peritonitis, and eventually was put to sleep (she was a fabulous girl and we gave her as good a life as we could) Mrs Miggins continues to this day and now rules the roost over three younger chickens called Mrs Poo, Mrs Slocombe and Mrs Pumphrey. The four of them have been very good girls over the winter months and produced lots of eggs (we're hoping that they don't get over-productive in the way that Mrs Bennett did) Our garden could cope with two chickens, but four chickens have completely destroyed the lawn - I'm waiting to see if anything manages to regrow in the spring time, but not too concerned if it doesn't.

 

Anyway, that's my version of life with the Eglu and four chickens. Short isn't it?

Thanks for reading the blogs. I've been trying to encourage Denise to get other people to read her blog for ages because I think it's great (obviously I'm biased because I'm married to her) The characters of the chickens are pretty much as portrayed - or that's how we perceive them anyway, and Denise spends a LOT of time watching them . At the moment, as well as hoping that the grass may grow again, we're hoping that Mrs P, Mrs Poo and Mrs M will regrow their bum-feathers as Mrs Slocombe likes to feather pluck. Denise has just had her in the house for a special meal of tuna, and we've sprayed all of their bottoms with unpleasant tasting stuff. Any other suggestions welcome - we don't really have space to separate Mrs Slocombe from the other for long...
