2 sleeps to go

Recommended Posts

Tombull, I think just lots of thick bedding in their house to keep them warm. maybe lots of warm porridge (thats my plan anyway).

I will be wearing my black beret with a big red flower on the side that my mum knitted me and dh will have an orange and blue beanie (sensing a theme to our xmas pressies) :D

I am very very very excited.

trying to prepare my girls (children not chooks) for the state they may be in.

the google directions thingemy says it is about 1hr 15minutes drive, so I am guessing it will be longer in this weather.

Dropping the dc off at 12.30, I was supposed to be going out tonight but I think I may have to cancel so I can keep an eye on my new ladies.

Sorry I am twittering now, thats because I am so excited, have I mentioned that? :silenced:

I take it you guys are going to be in rossendale tomorrow?!?!?

I'm collecting 3 girls and it's my first time owning chickens. I'm so excited I can't sleep (hence looking at the forum at midnight). If they ask me to take extra i know i'll cave in and say OK. OH is out of the country at the moment so maybe he just won't notice if i get chooks that all look similar!! Any advice to a novice about how to look after them during this cold snap. Maybe see some of you tomorrow!!

For extra bedding in their house to keep them warm, straw is best, the spores from hay can affect their health.

Whilst I have chickens, I am a novice to ex-batts too!

If our paths don't cross today - good luck. :D

My 3 girls have just gone into their eglu run about half an hour ago. They are just standing in one spot looking bewildered aswell. Should i be leaving them alone or encouraging them to eat or go into the eglu?? I wouldn't be so worried if it was warmer but if i'm freezing in the garden my poor little 'oven readies' must be feeling it too!! HELP!!
