Recommended Posts

Either spot would be good but personally I would have it in the second position - the one further from the run door so that anyone stood at the eggport would not be in the way of someone using the run door, also I think it looks ever so slightly neater tucked away a bit

Could you reach the door operating handle in both spots? You don't want to wrench your poor back leaning over a bush if you do choose the second spot

Yes I've tried the handle (good thinking though) and I can do that, although I don't actually close the door throughout he summertime it's just when it's cold cold cold.

If need be the bush will come out. ;) But it's a shame to remove it if I can keep it.

I will also be planting large lavender bushes around so making it a bit more pretty

That's the position hubby likes best though. In that position it also gives you a better view of them inside I have to agree  .

thanks :) the run was built last year by my husband but has been painted up in Cappuchino colour no less! and will have the cube on outside obviously with a bit cut out for the roof to slide back and forth as needed.

That should be easily big enough to keep my 2 girls + two new additions happy. :D (when they are finally integrated)

I prefer the second position too.

But.....have you thought about having it on the short side of the run instead? That way you would be able to see all of the run at one go?

Personally I don't like looking at the backsides of cubes :wink:

It would be like my run in my signature

Could you not put 2 little windows/opening hatches in the run sides and then you could move the cube so the grass underneath doesnt die?. love sue xxx

the cube is having it's own hard standing area built so wont have any grass under... but good thinking. ;)

edited to add it's also got to stay pretty much where it is most of the time as I cannot move it with my bad back... :?

I did think that actually Jules, but the view from my kitchen window is the smaller side, it's just how it works in my garden, in an ideal world with a huge garden it wouldn't but hey ho, so I wanted to keep the 'view' of them in their run clear, so opted to use the longer side. If I had it on the smaller side the neighbours would have a better view of them but not me. if I am making any sense at all.

I believe we are decided on the second choice nearer the bush

Thanks for your help everyone :clap::clap:

aww your both so kind, Tasha you will meet my hubby when you come for the composter, he loves a bit of praise

He's out there now sorting the hard standing area for the cube. :D I have to admit I like it so much better painted! :D, even though it was time consuming!
