Hair straighteners advice please

Hi, just to add to the vote for GHD's. My DD has taken ours to Uni with her and I am using and old pair of cheaper ones which don't work anywhere near as well.

 

Incidentally, our GHD's broke as soon as they were out of warranty :( , but we sent then off to GHD who repaired them free of charge, and returned them within the week they are as good as new now...how's that for service :D

I am a natural curly top too, but I love my curls & would never want the poker straight hair that my siblings have.

 

I did straighten it once, & I looked like a hobo :roll::lol:

 

I'm the same as you Sarah, a curly bonce. I have straighteners and have done it a few times, but hubby told me I looked like a witch :shock::roll:

 

I can't see the point for me in fighting nature, as on the few times I've done it, I've been paranoid about it getting damp - I went to a lot of trouble years ago to straighten it when I was going to a meeting - we had one in the morning and I looked very sleek (if I can look sleek) and then we got caught in a shower at lunchtime. By the time we got to the afternoon meeting, I looked like something out of the 70s (the bad bit of the 70s, that is), my hair was standing on end in a giant frizz....some of the people who'd been in the morning meeting were in the afternoon one and the looks on their faces when I walked in was a picture! I hadn't managed to get to a mirror so didn't know what the problem was! I've not straightened my hair since that day! :shock::wink:

 

Glad your daughter liked her GHDs though!

Quick update.

 

Its Cleos birthday today & she adore her new GHD's, so thanks for the advice everyone.

Thanks too to ANH for the pair she sent me for Devon & I to try out 8)

 

Off to reading for a mooch & lunch at Yo! Sushi now :P

 

Glad to hear you found some straighteners! I bought some today, but not GHDs as i cant afford them lol! I went to Yo Sushi today too! :lol:

We didn't go in the end - I was too hot & grumpy...................& skint after taking the girls into town :roll:

It was Pret insted for us.

I wonder if our paths crossed?
