Redwing
I bet you can't wait until they start laying, how are they all getting on?
Cooks
No I cant wait, well I can, but dont want to.. They are getting along great thanks , they were really nervous at first, very scared, but Dory has allowed me to pick her up now from her position on the top of the eglu run and let me snuggle her some. Flo is still skitty but less so than a week ago so that's coming along and give her time she will improve. They free range with the other two girls at the moment supervised only and there was a few pecks but nothing major, a bit of chasing, but overall nothing I would get too worried about. They are very large girls, larger than my existing two. I am just taking things slow and let them lead me really. They are clearly freeranging in two groups but come together a bit and then seperate again, they can eat together no problem and the older girls will enter the eglu run and walk out again. We're are getting there. edited to add, they have also ALL had their wings clipped

How have your existing girls taken to Norman? well they like him because he has a seperate cosey sleeping area for them to sleep in (nest box) they thought him strange to go to bed the first night, but I popped them in and they haven't looked back since, they even use the super glug after I tapped it a few times. Seagazer
Fab photos CookieMonster. I have a skyline on my wish list. My friend got one last week and she is absolutely gorgeous.
Cooks
no NO more.. just these four girls is totally enough. Re the ladder: If when building you WIR you make the are that your cube stands on lower than the main slabbed area for the WIR this will lower the area for the chickens to hop onto the ladder. That's what hubby did for us as he thought the ladder "a stupid design" sorry omlet he said it was waaaay to far off the floor, so he made sure in the WIR plan that it was lower. It's now really near the floor! Thanks Seagazer, they were just really quick shots, but I think they are ok oooh when is your wish list becoming a reality? If big'uns, how on earth do they all fit in the eglu?! My 4 almost fill the cube & make a right song & dance about getting up the ladder. I'll try & grab a pic one day before I let them out, is always surprises me how big those featherballs are Sha x
Seagazer
Thanks Seagazer, they were just really quick shots, but I think they are ok oooh when is your wish list becoming a reality? CookieMonster - well, got the quote now, just got to finally agree it with OH and Tony has delivery down as first week of April. So if all goes well I could get some beautiful girls sometime after that. I will have to work out whether I split the run in half and use something for the new ones to sleep/roost in or perhaps hire an eglu for a bit.
