Guest
Broadband is the only way to use the internet. Dial-up is a completely different (and much inferior) experience. I have Broadband

Cinnamon
I wish & wish & wish we had broadband, but we are something like 6 metres too far from the exchange As we are the only house on our road that wants Broadband, the chances of campaigning for an upgrede are somewhat slim I try twice a year or so,but BT really could not care less about little me & my slow dial-up computer connection Oh well - thats what happens when you live in a small village full of older people I guess - it's peaceful, but the computers slow

Cinnamon
Well,I have not properly looked into that,& wouldn't know where to start really. Its pretty rural here - would that make a difference? We do get a very good Sky signal, though Anyone know who I should contact to look into this further???
Charlottechicken
I wish & wish & wish we had broadband, but we are something like 6 metres too far from the exchange I am just pleased I'm not the only dial up dinosaur on this forum Hey, I'm quoting again, no stopping me now
Lesley
Broadband here as well - I'd have thrown the computer through the window if we'd stayed on dial-up
Popcorn
Sarah, I think most internet suppliers offer wireless connections. You just need the bit in the back on your pc to pick up the signal. Call your internet supplier and ask what you need to do, or get on the internet and do a google. Edit - thinking about it Sarah...I think you need a laptop to go wireless....not sure now
Guest
You don't need a laptop to go wireless - we have both a laptop and a media centre, and both have wireless connections!
