Our new Columbine, Ruby laid her first egg today, (We bought her last Saturday) definately green, darker than Misty's the Corton Blue. It weighed in at 34g

 

These are today's eggs and Ruby's egg is in the middle

Congratulations . What a pretty egg . Maisie's started out that slightly olivey green but went paler in time (like your other ) .

That's a lovely egg - they are all lovely. I'm in North Herts. Where did you get your chooks from, if you don't mind me asking?

 

I have not got my chickens yet. Just wondering where to get them from, although Thorne's would be the nearest to us.

Yes mine came from Thornes. All of them apart from the original 2 from Omlet, the Miss Pepperpot and the Goldline have come from Thornes, they are lovely healthy birds and the staff are very knowledgable and helpful. They have a good selection of different birds, they had some beautiful Speckledies last week that had almost silver looking hoods on, they were gorgeous.

Misty's egg was darker to begin with but it is paler now, usually with white spots (you can just see them in the photo) but sometimes pinkish/brown spots. I would have been nice if her eggs had been a little more blue but nevermind they are beautiful as they are.

3 of my Fenton Blues lay eggs of that colour. The 4th lays blue eggs.
