hillfamily
Trust me I would willingly let them snuggle in the cat basket by the stove :D .........but if you could see the expression on Poppy cat's face ........ If she wasn't so old and unable to get out the back garden, she would definitely have mounted a protest and left by now

Seagazer
Oh dear, it doesn't matter how many times I see these poor ladies in their 'oven ready' state it always makes me cry. I have tears in my eyes and my YS has just said how terrible it is that they get into that state. Well done on doing the rescue and getting your girls and I hope they have a healthy and happy life. FunkyCrunky
OMGoodness, they are oven ready. Poor girlies! I'm so happy for them. Their life starts here, today! Congratulations and welcome girls. Life starts here.
mostin
What a wonderful thing you have done. Taking them home yourself, and helping out so that every one else can take some home to help too . They do look in a state poor loves, but they have a new life with you now, and things can only get better.
scrambledhead
How brilliant that you were able to take them home. We collected our 3 rescues yesterday and it was amazing how many people were there. Trouble is we aren't the ones who need converting! I worked on a battery farm when I was a student and they are not nice places I hope I can make up for it now
hillfamily
We collected our 3 rescues yesterday and it was amazing how many people were there. which rescue did you get your girls from Miriam, Gladys and Ethel have had a lovely day :D They haven't stopped eating all day and have finished a whole trough of food They have each laid me an egg and had a lovely snooze this afternoon :D I was in the kitchen and all I could hear was contented purring......it brought a tear to my eye I've made their indoor home bigger and will keep them in for a few more days (heard we were going to have another cold snap). Will review their move outdoors later in the week in the hope that a few down feathers may have started to appear :D

Unlimited food and drink, a lovely warm place to snooze and someone to give them all the tlc they could want - no wonder they're contented and purring! Long may it continue

daj198
Bet they think they've been very good girls indeed and gone to little hennie heaven! Unlimited food and drink, a lovely warm place to snooze and someone to give them all the tlc they could want - no wonder they're contented and purring! Long may it continue But surely they could have only got to little hennie heaven by grace as they could never be good enough to reach God's standards by themselves! So sweet that they are purring, it makes me want to get more but the current ones are enough trouble!
TAJ
They really are 'oven ready' - the weather forecast is to go cold again this week, so best in for a few days I think! Well done, Tracy
luke
I have three chickens, two which are about 3 years old and have stopped laying for some reason. The third is two years old and lays an egg one or twice a week. I would like like to replace then with laying hens, although my daughter and wife are keen on me finding them somewhere nice to go. Do you have any ideas?

Well done, Tracy it's quite nice actually having them indoors in the conservatory :D - they are slowly getting used to me and are far less jumpy when I walk past them
