Phonix
Ok guys - i need to some help lol! Going on holiday with some of the girls from uni (4/5 of us) and need to think of somewhere to go! Can't be too expensive and all we really want is sun, sea and a bit of nightlife (but none of the 18-30s lark!) So far ive been looking at villa's/apartments to rent as that seems to be cheaper than going down the package deal route! Anyway just wondering if you had any suggestions of wierd and wonderful destinations - i found alot on the Costa Del Sol but that sounds so ordinary for an end-of-uni-trip-to-remember! Best one ive seen so far is Sardinia (Alghero) - about £90 return flights and £50 each for the villa for 11 nights - has anyone been? what's it like? Soooo suggestions anyone???? thanks in advance! xXx
theherd123
How about a wine & walking holiday in France? (maybe that should be a wine & stumbling holiday!)
Cooks
I love that idea Emma (nice to see you by the way ) I cant help Phonix as I am in the same dilemma, I cannot decide whether to stay home with days out this year to special places we have visited, or to go on holiday. My friend went to Cuba last year and said it was stunning, but I don't know the costs involved. Long Flight though.
theherd123
I love that idea Emma (nice to see you by the way ) Thanks! I know its been a while but my brother kindly sent my laptop into the pit of doom at Christmas and only just got it back from ICU,minus all the photos of Isabelle from birth to 3 months. Needless to say ive missed you all loads and no-one will ever touch my laptop again upon fear of death We are off to Devon this year so sea can be guaranteed but sun and nightlife maybe a little short! Plum
I love Sardinia, we stayed just round the coast from Alghera. The hotel was on a beautiful silver sand beach and the water is so clear. I swam in the sea listening to a pianist playing classical music before the evening entertainment bliss. (The downside was the Italians look so classy in their black swimwear and me .........well best not say any more) So yes Sardinia is good. Hello Emma, Keep that brother away. Have you put any lost photos on photobucket or facebook? Edited to say just seen your reply sorry.
Cinnamon
It would be Greece for me every time, but Turkey is supposed to be great too. AND they have some super Spas
theherd123
Greece - never been but heard its great. The technology teacher from work has been the last 2 years and his family love it. I suppose you could island hop too!
Phonix
Flights to the Greek islands seem expensive! As are the Canaries! I went to Devon last year with my friends family and LOVED it weather was wonderful!!! Emma - about the photos - i would really reccommend getting an external harddrive and saving them any you take on there and on the computer then they can be accessed from any computer should anything go wrong with yours!! Looking at Croatia now but struggling with flights! We're getting together tomorrow night (before the big law bar crawl lol - im going as Marty from Madagascar!!! Cartoon character theme) to discuss it and i just wanted some ideas! Im not so sure id be able to persuade them to go for french walking and wine - holiday needed to relax and none of us like wine lol!! xXx
earthmam1
Have you thought about camping with surfing holiday. Great campsite on the Gower in Wales (Hill end campsite) plus the Gower Surf academy do surf lessons there (you have to book both) My boys (all at Uni) do this and have a great time If you want to know more let me know. sue
theherd123
I went to Devon last year with my friends family and LOVED it weather was wonderful!!! We are really hoping for good weather so we can take the bears to the beach - Teddy doesnt like going out in the rain, wind, snow, if its breezy, looks like rain or just doesnt feel like it! Emma - about the photos - i would really reccommend getting an external harddrive and saving them any you take on there and on the computer then they can be accessed from any computer should anything go wrong with yours!! I was literally about to transfer the photos to my 8Gb stick when my brother sent it crazy. Needless to say all the more recent photos are on it now! We're getting together tomorrow night (before the big law bar crawl lol - im going as Marty from Madagascar!!! Cartoon character theme) to discuss it and i just wanted some ideas! PHOTOS PHOTOS PHOTOS!!! How about Turkey?

theherd123
Have you looked at Expedia, netflights.com or travelsupermarket? Im sure some airlines do discounts for group bookings too, so depending on how many of you are going you might get a % off if you book together. Lisa
DH, DS and DD went to Sardinia to do their D of E exoeditions and thoroughly enjoyed it. They brought back some beautiful pictures and said the weather was lovely and the country was great.
Phonix
Scrambled - would love to go there but flights cost far too much Emma - ive been looking on those but they seem to come up with more expensive options than when I just go on the indiv sites myself!!! bluekarin
What about the Isles of Scilly? They tend to have really good weather. I've not been myself, but my friend went and she loved it and its somewhere I'd love to go.
Ardene5
Hi Everyone, I know this might sound daft but have you thought of fully inclusive holidays because the price of food etc with the drop in the value of the ££ make the price of food and drink expensive. Ware as if you pay for every thing in £££ in the Uk there are not price shocks when you get out there!!! Try Tunisia or stay in the UK and find a nice sea side place around the coast of the UK. Happy holidays where ever you stay. Best regards Ian & Valerie
Phonix
I looked at all inclusive hols a while back and they cost far too much for what we'd want to spend. We're the type to not be out clubbing every night and instead have a dinner party cooking ourselves etc (don't get me wrong we do like a good night out - just not every night!). What do you think of this: http://www.holiday-rentals.co.uk/p403157 I have sent an email with a few questions to see what reply I get and how genuine it sounds. Thanks guys x
theherd123
The beach looks quiet and the sea clear - i could just dive in it now!
Phonix
Do you think its too good to be true and i'd get there to a total dump? x
