Laura & CTB
At last (and after four months) the eglu and run are in position and ready to go. Grand opening ceremony yesterday complete with red ribbon. Cardboard cut out chickens didn't want to go in at first ( understandably a little nervous ) so had to be given a little nudge Shocked to find a squatter in the run - small spider setting up home for the winter (explained the dangers of staying there). Added newly purchased, artificial stone chicken dust bath - £30 for a dust bath for chickens Looking forward to real chickens when I get back from hols at the end of the month Not looking forward to telling CTB it's over 90 degrees in Las Vegas - he hates the heat

Laura & CTB
Where are you getting the chickens from? I can't remember I have several options at the moment, I've got three breeders lined up mainly because I've been having that old sleepless night problem again (bantams or not bantams) Yes, Yes I know I said it would definately be bantams but now I'm not so sure after seeing some large hybrids giving me that sad puppy dog take me home look Guess I'm just gonna have to see what's around when I get back - all the breeders I've spoken to say chickens are flying out the doors at the moment (so to speak) just hope there's a couple left for me!
