So`I`m not sure if this is exactly the right place for the Dance but hey ho... This is our "Chikky" a light sussex cockeral ... For those unfamiliar with the story the avalon chicken web page is there with pics ect..

Chuckles.. yep thats Chikky..hes the baby chick on my website with the pink teddy..and the pink eglu..which I might add was purchased for him as we couldnt give back our easter chick to my friend marie as he turned out to be a cockeral, soooooooooo he was a very expensive easter egg Easter last year!!

Oh I know chikky isnt too Big boy..but hes such a darling.. he likes to watch TV, and I suspect he may want a part in the new Fame..although..well..what can I say I didnt see too many chickens in the last one..

As for dancing..yes every morning when I open the inner door and let them out he rushes out (the girls go for food..obviously!..) and jumps up onto the fencing and goes potty..

 

Damnit, but he knows when we take the recorder out..there have been so many blasted funny ones where hes spun around soo fast hes fallen off...

Then "crowed" in disgust ( as if to say..well you try it..) and got right back on and did it again...

 

He didnt do it when it snowed.. but then they were all rather subdued in the snow...

As for eating they have layers pellets, corn, fresh sweetcorn which MUST be 3 cobs..or else they get very annoyed........

Oh and they also have the veggies in the garden that we dont get around to eating...

 

 

They also are so lovely...and he as well as the girls come over to play when we let them out of the netting too...

Thank you very much for the garden comments too! thats so sweet..no I dont open it to the public, people that have heard from a friend or something?! ask to see it, so I always say yep come on over mostly in the summer though when all the flowers are up, and the grass has been cut eek.. but I`m not very good with plant names and I`ve always been worried that I`l be thicker than thick when asked for the latin name of this or that...

 

my usual thing is..err well its short got green leaves and pink flowers...L

 

I`ve got some snow pics to add to the site from this feb just gone too..

I`l just add them and post again so you can have a looksee... theres even some snowed in eglu pics..L

 

Re the time, there were 5000 box plants that we got from hampton court, including the topiary, but we have such awful sharp wind here that very often the topiary gets wind burn and dies so its always a replacement at least once a year for a few sick fellowes...

 

The shapes are Maltese crosses, Hearts and harelquin zig zags...

The veggie garden is set out in a japanese rising sun shape..

Yes hes a barrel of laughs thats for sure, hes always excited to see us and always jumps onto the fencing when we turn up or anyone for that matter..

He like the girls has a lovely personality.
