Chook n Boo Mum Posted March 29, 2009 Share Posted March 29, 2009 ...when the dishwasher has more chook bowls in it than human ones ....when you start emails to friends with "am I bringing eggs for you this week?" ....when you shut yourself behind netting to do digging in the garden, so you don't get mobbed by marauding chooks - you have a line of them outside the netting waiting for the worms & other creatures which will get thrown for them though!! ....when it's after midnight and you are still on Omlet..... !!!!! When you get chicken gifts for your birthday and even get your parents old china chicken egg holder from the garage and love it (hubby hates it) - photos soon! When all your dreams feature eggs, chickens, Omlet, Eglus, Cubes! Ardene5 Posted April 1, 2009 Share Posted April 1, 2009 Hi Everyone Here are a few ideas to add to the list ...... when you chat on omlet about chicken related things ..... when you start looking for that special chicken T shirt that fits! ..... when your better half buys you something special which you need for the chickens ..... when you tell your friends if you bring the egg box back you can have some more eggs! ..... when you have help and advice on other things from other omleteers. ..... when you see photos of other pets and say how lovely they are because you know that they are animal lovers. ....... when you are up very early to let the hens out you decide also to come on here!! Ardene5 Posted April 1, 2009 Share Posted April 1, 2009 ......... when you build a walk in run 20 feet long by 10 feet wide by 6 feet high, put the base seven inches above the lawn to stop flooding, run mains into the run to allow heat lamps to be used during the very cold winter and then put an eglu and cube inside it. The sides of the run covered in opaque pvc and wire mess around all sides!!! The cover the top of the run with metal corrugated sheets. Ana's flock Posted April 2, 2009 Share Posted April 2, 2009 ... you go to bed with the latest issue of Practical Poultry, ... and don't go to sleep until you've read it cover to cover! ...when you think about where can you put all the other hens you'd like to get (summer house, shed...) as your eglu and cube are full and you don't want to cramp their style. ...when you plan your UK holiday around areas where there are poultry breeders, open farms, etc... ...when you go to the pet shop and look for what bird treats would your girls enjoy...
