Chook n Boo Mum
I adopted 4 Orpingtons; 2 blue & 2 Splash, who all traipse up the ladder every night, if a little (ok a lot ) undignified in their efforts ! They now have the option of a low level but still insist of using their own...along with my original 3 as bed mates....so I think they are quite happy with the arrangement! not a great pic of them all inside, but thought you'd like to see it anyway! Falkor
I am doing intros as I type. Two existing 7 month old Orps being intergrated with two 18 week newbie hybrids. All seems OK at the moment (**touching as much wood as she can find**). There has been a little bit of chasing from one Orp and I have seen a total of two hald hearted pecks from the other Orp but i think that is just pecking order stuff. I was told that as Orps as so laid baid and friendly they tend to be the ones that get bullied. However so far so good at my house!
Chook n Boo Mum
My Blue/Blue Splash Orpies are definitely the ones in charge in my flock, but they are all getting along well with the Goldline, Amber Star & Bluebelle and the 4 Batties...just the odd peck swiped at the smaller birds at food times, but there are enough food stations for them all to migrate away from each other & still get a reasonable meal before it all disappears ! atsw
We introduced two Buff Orps to our old girl (a Bovan Goldline, aged ~3) last November. No problems, Fifi accepted the two new girls without issue, they accepted her as 'queen hen' without question. All three were roaming together within 4 days, they remain best of friends to this day. Pictures here and in my signature link. Orps are wonderful birds. Andrew
chelsea
Orps will be fine in a cube, some may struggle with the ladder but you could easily put a makeshift wooden ladder over the top if needs be. Orpingtons are very placid, you usually find the big fluffy breeds (orpington, brahma, cochin) mix very well with other breeds and can be quite submissive. My 2 cochins prefer to be bottom of the pecking order.

Valkyrie
There's plenty of room, although it is a bit awkward when they all want to lay at the same time - they whinge. At the moment I have to drag the buff out of the nest box when the other two want a turn and keep her until they have finished - she refused point blank to go in my makeshift broody box. My buff is the one that keeps her distance - which is a bit different at the moment, she is quite happy in my arms. The other two are greedy little beggars - literally! I am sure you will love your birds like the rest of us. Good luck.
ruth1
My Op has no probs with the cube and since I've got a completely mixed flock I've had no problems with them getting on , in fact my Orp and Goldline are best buddies.
