New Chicken wish list

Recommended Posts

My list changes almost daily and I have until the end of May to make up my mind what is going in the incubator next  At the moment it's.........

White LF NB Silkies

Silver Grey Dorkings

Those are the definites. I'm torn between.....

Marans, probably Copper blues/blacks/splash

Gold or Cream Legbars, seems good Gold Legbar eggs are as rare as hens teeth

Black or Partridge Orps

Speckled Sussex

Blue laced or Partridge laced Wyandotte

Partridge LF NB Silkies

Decisions decisions...... :think::dance:

common sense tells me I can't expand into new breeds but I'd really like a blue partridge brahma L/F male (oh those trousers!!!) and I suppose I'd have to have some girls to go with him. The other breed I'd like to try are creve coeurs - they are French and like polands but bigger and a lovely bluey-grey. One day....

I was really taken with buff Orpingtons the first time I saw them, and also like Barnevelders.

However, as I don't want to breed from my birds I am just excited to see how my motley crew of mongrels turn out! So far one looks to be a lavender Araucana, and another has Welsummer traits, but the other three are Heinz 57 :D

And they are all gorgeous 8)

Wheaton Marans (like Fee's!)

and An Araucana or Cream Legbar

they will be my next two girls.

I forgot to mention, I'd love to have a Modern Game. There's just something about them. I first saw a photo a few months ago and ever since I've wanted one but I really don't think it'd be suited to my set-up. Weird legs.

They are strangely attractive though aren't they? I saw the article in the April edition of Practical Poultry and thought they were quite pretty :D

Somebody on here has one of those naked necks, but can't remember who.

My wish list is:

Maran - any sort

Croad Langshan, so beautiful

Sussex - any sort

Kraienkoppe - eagles

Dorking

Norfolk Grey

Plymouth Rock

Welsummers

Barnvelders

Brahmas

Araucanas

Lavender Orpington

Gold Laced Orpington

What the heck, I am a sucker for any Orpingtons!

Marsh Daisy - I like the name too!

Wyandottes - any sort

Faverolles - love those cheeks

Vorwerks

Rhode Island Reds

Fayoumis

Pekins

Cochins

Of course I would need a bigger garden and more cubes! Not forgetting a couple of alpacas to keep the foxes away. :D

I'll leave most of the bantams for my next life!

Perhaps I'll just limit it to the ones that aren't flighty (that's most of the list gone already)! :D

Edited to add - I would also have to come into a fortune - even if I bumped off my inlaws I probably wouldn't be able to have them all!

Well....each to their own........anyone for a Transylvanian Naked Neck :vom:

white_turkenH.JPEG

I'd like one :D

I think its WitchHazel who has one of them, in grey or black... but I'm not sure

When I first saw a pic of these I thought :vom: but having seen some in the flesh I actually really like them :D

I was talking to a woman that breeds them and she said that some chicks have naked necks and some don't!
