Su-Li has a funny tummy. She has had it for a few weeks now. It doesn't affect her at all, she still does all the normal chickeny things we would expect her to. It's just that when we pick her up her tummy is quite soft & virtually featherless & seems a little swollen & podgy & also very hot.

Is this normal for a Silkie? She hasn't come into lay yet.

One of my girls has a slightly bald tummy but it's not red or swollen and she is behaving in a normal chickeny way too.

 

I put it down to perhaps her rubbing that area when she perches.

 

I'm sure you have already checked her all over for lice.
