It doesn't affect her at all, she still does all the normal chickeny things we would expect her to. It's just that when we pick her up her tummy is quite soft & virtually featherless & seems a little swollen & podgy & also very hot. Is this normal for a Silkie? She hasn't come into lay yet. Gamebird Posted April 9, 2009 Share Posted April 9, 2009 One of my girls has a slightly bald tummy but it's not red or swollen and she is behaving in a normal chickeny way too. I put it down to perhaps her rubbing that area when she perches. I'm sure you have already checked her all over for lice.
