Happy-Mama
Hi, I am thinking of buying an eglu and was wondering how long they last?
The Dogmother
Forever! Seriously, they have only been around a couple of years, but are still going strong and never seem to wear out. If you email barbara@omlet.co.uk, she can arrange for you to visit an Eglu/Rablu in your area.
Happy-Mama
Thanks, I'll do that. I didn't realise they were that new. I only discoverd this site recently when doing a search on Rabbits as I would like to get one though I haven't had one for a few years now. The Dogmother
I've got one Eglu for hens and a Rablu for the bunnies and they are great - so easy to clean out. Whereabouts are you located?
Happy-Mama
I'm in Scotland, think I need to pay extra for delivery because I'm too far away. I'd like to get another rabbit and I was looking up info about them on the internet when I found the Omlet site. The Eglus look great and easy to keep clean etc. Will have to save up a bit before I can get one though so going to hold off getting the bunny until then. I love animals and also keep horses. I was thinking of getting a pink eglu eventually though I'm guessing the bunny won't mind what colour I go for )
Louise
Whereabout in Scotland there are quite a few Eglus dotted around but i am not sure if there are many Rablus up here yet
The Dogmother
Jen Jen, keep an eye on the 2nd hand section of the forum as they sometimes come up there, and let Barbara kmow that you are looking for one, then she will contact you if a Rablu becomes available. Also, you sometimes see Rablus on ebay, so keep an eye on that too - I hope you get what you want - I got our pink one via the forum, 2nd hand and a very good price. Happy-Mama
Thanks, I'll keep a look out for 2nd hand ones, I'm about a 3hr drive from Fort William. Are these ones that people own who don't mind you going to look at them?
ali-s
Thats right. The username is Elmerfud. I haven't seen him around for ages. You could try sending a PM or contacting Omlet who might know of another way of contacting him.
Mrs Frugal
There is a rabbit Eglu in Troon but you'll need to contact Barbara to be put in touch with the owner as she's not a forum member as far as I know.

I've been looking at some of the other topics too and this seems like a very friendly forum, which is great. I am definately looking forward to getting an eglu and a Rabbit too of course. Guest
I imagine they would last for thousands of years - they are probably not as biodegradeable as the traditional wooden ark... Phil

Only one bunny? They get very lonely and are sociable little things just like hens - best get two.
Happy-Mama
Yes of course will get two for company. Got one in my head because there was a beautiful one at the pet shop but it just didn't like other bunnies so was on it's own. I was tempted to take it because it was so lovely with people and liked to be picked up etc but I was going on holiday that week so thought it best to wait until I'm back, now it's gone . Happy-Mama
That's a good idea, I will try that. Both my first rabbits were rescue ones and they were lovely so would be happy to do that again How do you find moving and cleaning your eglu? Is it easy to maintain by one person?
