Omlet Staff hanns Posted April 28, 2009 Omlet Staff Share Posted April 28, 2009 Hi Everyone, a French TV company on channel M6 is coming to Omlet next week to film Gwen at work. They also want to film an eglu owner with their chickens. Ideally you would speak french as they don't speak english very well. Also they would like to film someone in an urban environment as the point they want to make is that chicken keeping is possible in towns and cities in France too. Please email me johannes@omlet.co.uk as soon as possible if you can help. You need to be within 2hrs drive of Banbury, Oxfordshire and free next Tuesday afternoon. thank you Johannes
Martin B
Ermmmm.... I am within 2 hours of banbury, live at the top of a high street, have a small garden and have a GCSE in French and I am often involved with working with french exchange students with the local french team... I might be able to do it, if you think I meet the criteria. Martin

Ana's flock
Well... I live in Milton Keynes (can't get much more suburban than that! and it's easy to get to), speak some French (used to be fluent but have forgotten a lot!) an have a Parisian au-pair (he can translate if need be or if I 'chicken' out - sorry for the pun... ) I have 11 hens in a cube and an eglu (both purple, of course!) Please PM me if you think they'd be interested so I can warn my au-pair (or quickly brush up my French and look up in the dictionary lots of chickeny words... Patricia W
We're driving the length of France in a few weeks down to Spain so I've just thought of a new game- chicken spotting! Might make a change from counting Norbert Denstessangle trucks! ( A game we used to play when we had 4 children with us, but we are now on our own, so sad really.. ) Maybe we can take a few leaflets for Johannes. jackiepoppies
Hi Patricia W, We are in central France and if you want to do some chicken spotting, you would be more than welcome to come and see mine We are just off the A71 and if you want to break your journey, an ideal place to stop There are some excellent B&Bs around here which I would be happy to help you with. Unfortunately our renovation project is still ongoing (credit crunch and exchange rates ) and until I have another bedroom, I can't offer accommodation, but coffee, tea and wine are always available Jackiex
Egluntyne
Doesn't Rhapsody speak French? Maybe she'd be up for it.
LaPoule
Jackiex (Is this the only cube in France?) It won't be when we move Did a quick search of M6' website, to see if there was anything about Omlet, but can't see anything - did find this though! Patricia W
Hi Jackiepoppies What a lovely offer! I'm not sure we come near you this time. We're driving straight down to Macon, camping overnight and then straight on to Spain. We discovered a nature reserve between Rosas and Figueras with a campsite on the beach some 20+ years ago. It's wonderfully restful. We have a caravan we store down there, so we pick it up and then set up on the beach for two weeks of windsurfing ( OH), reading ( me) sleeping, drinking and eating ( both). The storks will be nesting which is why we go in May /June - it's a magical time. But we are coming back some time in the summer when we may have more time then. I'll wave as we land ! jackiepoppies
Hi La poule, When and whereabouts are you moving to Jx
LaPoule
Hi Jackiepoppies, We're not moving back for a few years yet, so there may well be other before we get there! Probably Brittany, as that's where we lived when Le Monsieur was at uni, but we'll see... Unfortunately, there will be a greater risk of being visited by the in-laws, so we haven't quite made up our minds 100% yet
jackiepoppies
It's an open invitation to anyone coming our way We'd love to see you Jx
LaPoule
That's very generous of you! We will be in Chattelerault visiting the father-in-law and the mad step-mother-in-law this summer, but I suspect it is at least 3 hours from where you are. Scramble
bravo Martin, Je vous soutiens de tout coeur! This shows just how UN-French I am that I don't understand a thing
Ana's flock
The French TV peeps are on their way... I've been looking up words in the dictionary, things like en cuvée (broody), muer (to moult)...etc[ - as my French au-pair who was meant to help me has 'chickened out'... Still, came from work, 'Kirchered' the cube and let the girlies out. They're now getting well and truly unpresentable having a dust bath... Will let you know how it goes. ...and I'm not nervous at all! /color]
LaPoule
See if you can find out what the programme is going to be called, and when it will be aired - it looks like you can watch some of the programmes again on their website (http://www.m6.fr/). Bonne chance, ma poule
