If you have a walk in run, could you post a pic?

Recommended Posts

WIR are my new topic of choice

ANH, I've seen your run before but didn't realise it has 2 doors. And a seat inside. Can you explain the virtures of 2 doors to me please? And how do you find having your eglu inside? I think that is how I'd have to have mine and not srue the best way of having it (on a table with a ramp, I suppose?).

Do you use the seat or do the ladies use it?

The idea behind the 2 doors was so the girls could come and go into their freerange area and the other door was intended for human use only.

One is a stable door so that I can open the eglu door & the egg port without going into the run (poop free feet!) and to stop them escaping through the run door. We can reach it without moving the Omlet netting. I open top & bottom when I want to get the eglu out or swivel it to remove the poo tray.

I have to say I'm delighted with it - it works perfectly. We don't need to watch our feet for poop and it's so easy to tuck them in at night. The eglu stays much cleaner as it's off the floor, there's no bending down to get eggs or check on the girls and the table gives them extra floor space and some shelter too. I've added more branches now and they use them a lot.

The "human" door opens inwards to limit the chances of them nipping out into "our" garden  .

I did start off sitting on the bench but there have been some spectacular squits recently so I'm steering clear at present :vom: .
