I feel really mean!

Recommended Posts

I have just put Biscuit into a broody cage in the kitchen and she is pacing up and down clucking her disaproval! Didn't like to leave her outside as the upside down guineapig cage doesn't look fox proof and it is too big to go into the cube run.

Oh well. At least Lottie will be brave enough to enter the nest box to lay her egg tomorrow, instead of being bullied by broody Biscuit and laying her egg in the run where a rake is required to retreive it.

Has anyone ever cured broodiness in the kitchen before?

If the broody cage has been within sight and sound of the other hens, I have not found it to be a problem. When my girl was broody the other week I stood the borrowed dog crate up on bricks in the WIR.

She just joined the gang again when she had come to her senses.
