First GCSE today

Recommended Posts

My eldest has the first of her GCSE's today, so I need Omlet good vibes please!

The poor thing was literally trembling this morning when I said goodbye to her - its her French oral & she needs a good score as she wants to continue French in college in September.

Also my 14 year old her her SATS this week, even though they were dropped for her age group the school is carrying them out independently

Spare a thought for me in 2 years time when it will be Devons A levels & Cleos GCSE's.

Didn't think that one through,did we? :roll::lol::lol::lol:

Anyhow, good luck to all those taking exams at the moment :D

Good luck - as to 'you didn't think it through', if they stay on it is exams every year 14 - 21 yrs, so unless you plan an 8 year gap they are always going to be doing exams at the same time.

My daughters school will have (as planned) end of yr exams in June - they would have done these even if SATs had not been dropped. However they have used the extra time freed from SATs to start GCSE work early for the core subjects.

Glad it went well, Sarah. I remember going through all that with Tom a couple of years ago and it's Ollie's turn next year. I think it's just as bad being a Mum as it is for them going through it as we worry just as much.........if not more sometimes! Hope the next 5 weeks go smoothly for her. Fingers crossed and Omlet good vibes on the way.

Cinnamon, you are not alone

My daughter has her GCSE French oral on Friday, followed by everything else over the next few weeks.

Pleased to hear that your daughter feels good about hers today 8)

My ES dropped out of 6th form last year but has now decided to return in September (to a different school), so as from then I'll have both him and daughter doing their A'levels at the same time

Added bonus for me is that I still have 10yr old and 11yr old sons to follow and from September all 4 children will be in different schools :doh: At least eldest 2 will get themselves there

Good luck to everyone doing exams for the foreseeable future

That seems a bit unfair for you Fred.

I had my french oral today, it actually went really well as I had relatively easy B and C role plays and no long gaps of umm, uhh!

Just have another 10 exams left...1 next week, 3 the week after and then it's half term. Then the first week back I have 4 exams and the week after just 2!

Good luck to all those taking their GCSE's - my DD is taking her Year 6 SATS next week and I hope she gets through them ok. The amount of pressure is ridiculous :?

Good luck to her! I know - it is absolutly ridiculus the amount of pressure they get in year 6. It is completely unnecessary!
