Tessa the Duchess
I feel for your daughter I have terrible circulation and I have Reynauds in my hands, I wear gloves even in summer I have been told that B6 is good for circulation problems but nothing seems to work for me. Have not heard about ginko, might give it a try. Tessa
ClaireG
Has she been tested for Raynauds Syndrome? Here's some info http://www.medic8.com/healthguide/articles/raynauds.html http://www.raynauds.org.uk/potioncms/viewer.asp?a=30&z=12 I take ginger capsules in the winter which seem to help me. Cinnamon
Her hands don't change colour like in that photo,so I am assuming its not Raynauds, but I will ask the Doctor about it. I have been recommended the Red Kooga Ginko & Ginseng tablets from Boots,so I think I will give them a go
The Dogmother
Now that Reynauds has been mentioned, I am wondering whether she has low blood pressure. I have and alomost always have cold hands and feet. Circulation is fine, just not enough of it to go round!
Cinnamon
Thats a thought. Another question for the Doctor
chickencam
My ED has Reynauld's in her feet, they go white with changes in temperature or if her feet are in a draught even if it is not that cold. She also get icy hands when she is typing or playing guitar etc. We come from a family with poor circulation caused in the main by narrow blood vessels. They don't tend to treat Reynauld's unless the hands or feet lose their blood supply a lot which can cause tissue damage which is pretty rare in young people. It is far more common in young women than in men, however the only other people I know with it are my dad and grandad. My ED developed it when she was 13 and has learnt to live with it. It is worth just running her symptoms past the doctor though.
theherd123
I just came in here to suggest Ginko but i see someone has already mentioned it! It does take a while to take effect but well worth it as the results are great. I know it can be easy to stop taking a supplement if it doesnt have instant effects but this one really does work a treat
Guest
DD3 has Reynaud's in hands and feet. Our GP told her to eat chilli and spicy foods. Garlic is also very good for circulation.
Lesley
My sister and niece both have Raynauds - Ginko does help them.
lisa33
Rosemary Essential Oil is good for circulation as it stimulates blood pressure. maybe make a massage oil up with jojoba or almond oil?

millymollymandy
strangely I went to the doactor this week as I was fed up with my hands going white and numb even when I got in the car or got something out of the freezer. He said it was Raynards but any treatment had very bad side effects so there was not much he could do I have sent off for an info pack from www. raynauds.org.uk which should be usefull I will let you know. Think I might try ginko it can't do any harm can it!!
earthmam1
Hi Look on the Reynaulds website. You can get very thin gloves and socks to wear under your normal socks and gloves (does that make sense ) They are especially good in the winter. They have a silver thread through them which apparently increases the heat (or keeps it in). I know I am rambling but off the work now (brain not in gear) sue
Minnie the Moocher
I have it in my hands. It can be really painful and I find that it is met with little, if any, sympathy from people who have never experienced it. My OH (who can go out in winter in a thin shirt and NO COAT) used to get a little annoyed if wintery outings were cut a little shorter because I was suffering with my hands, but I think he understands a bit more now. However, in the spirit of not ruining others' enjoyment I tend to suffer in silence now. It doesn't have to be cold to trigger the distinctive 'dead fingers' either. It can be as simple as being somewhere draughty, holding a cold drink, car air vents angled towards the hands (grrr to whoever moves my air vents). If the ambient temperature in the house goes down just a couple of degrees in the winter I feel so miserable I just want to hibernate! Incidentally, I have looked back at pictures of me as a child in snowy scenes clutching my gloved hands - just as I do now - in a desperate attempt to keep them warm. Even then I had the symptoms, but didn't realise what was causing it.
