tom123
Help. I have found a breeder with both BUT can't take 2 big hens as don't think house is big enough. Could everyone give me the good and bad points for both and maybe some pics! If someone has both that would be great as you could compare them for me. Thanks Tom Edited May 16, 2009 by Guest

Griffin
I acquired 4 Brahma chicks of fate yesterday They're two days old and absolutely stunning. I've not kept either Brahmas or Cochins so I can't really help but I do know my chicks parents were gorgeous and I can't wait for mine to grow up. I'm praying for 4 girls
tom123
Thanks everybody. Am now looking down the hatching path. The breeder I had found would only sell them as trios and the only hen he did have was for £110 We have hatched before and either found homes for the boys or ate them. We just don't have a broody hen and we don't want to do it with an incubator. So do we... Wait for our new bantam wyandotte, Rosie, to go broody. She has gone broody before but apparently is a bit dumb and sat next to the eggs not on them Here she is... OR Find a silkie or goldtop for sale and buy them however I was hoping not to have to buy another hen as I wanted to hatch some wyandotte banties out later in the year and dont have space for a brahma, silkie and another wyandotte bantam. OR Borrow a broody from someone. Thats if I can find one! OR just use an incubator! However that means doing the infra red light and we dont have the space in the house for it as well as having a dog . What do you think? And more importantly, does anyone have a broody I can borrow! Thanks Tom
Griffin
My Brahma chicks and Silkie broody all came as a package She's not looking for a home but you're welcome to borrow my incubator once I've finished using it next weekend.
