We're all planning walk in runs! PART 2!

Recommended Posts

I started by cutting them to size with 3" extra all round to make a "hem". I then taped up the hems with tarp tape. I needn't have bothered as a few months down the line, the tarp tape has all come unstuck  .

So the latest ones I made I didn't leave a hem but I did reinforce the corners where I put the extra eyelets in. It's only where the eyelet is that any tearing is likely so I think they'll be OK (they've only been in since before Christmas though!)

I used bungees with these latest ones. Hopefully you can see from the photo how it worked.

This is the type of bungee I used.

Hi y'all :D

Have just purchased some hooks as per Andrew and ANH so will try these first but I also like the look of the Holdon hooks as well but they seem rather expensive.

BTW I think I might have made a mistake with the tarp at the end of the run It's going to be 2.5 metres wide and the only tarp I could get was a 2.4 metre one so it's going

to have a small gap down one side  Is the rain going to get in do you think :?: perhaps I should have done what you did ANH and cut a bigger one to size

Anyway I'm glad you found a tarp site emchook

A small gap wont matter. The 2.4m will actually be around 2.1m as the hemming process tends to reduce the size by around 30cm. I have a small gap on the left hand edge of my 4.5m length, but it's fine.

Was sorting the chucks out earlier and looked at the concrete and there is a hole in the middle and you can see mud under it :eh:

I don't think it was thick enough and the snow/ice must have done something to crack it ... just another delay trying to fix that

Its taking aaaaaaaaages. Done by Christmas I guess?

:( Poor you Lewis! BTW which Christmas?

On the plus side (for us) WIR due 8 or 9 March

Need to order some clear tarps - will have to see what everyone else has left for us in the shops  but very interested to see if emchook has any early opinions on the holdons. Our girls may have to put up with an opaque tarp on the prevailing side for a while.

Emchook/Judy - anything interesting happening this week?
