Space Chick
Never!! I rely on mine too much. What technology could you not live without?
Scramble
Computer life without the omlet forum... Which piece of technology do you wish had never been invented?
Space Chick
Thats a hard one? I think I'd say dishwashers. I've resisted the urge to have one as me and OH do the dishes together and chat which is far more civilised. What piece of technology would you like that you haven't got? Fizzle Knit
I'd quite like a camera on my mobile - a modest requirement I think, but I'll wait till my current phone dies/is lost. I'm a bit of a late adopter when it comes to all things technical, but I do like my digital camera. Had a bit of a rant tonight about MP3's, along the lines of "In my day you went to the shop and bought a 45, now you need a PhD in Apple-ology to listen to music" Grrrrrrr!!!! What thing about you makes you think you're turning into a Grumpy Old Man/Woman?
Chickvic
I sound like my mother! When I'm saying anything to my children I come out with the things my mom used to say! Makes me feel old That and doctors/police etc are getting younger What's one of your favourite sayings?
Valkyrie
Children should be seen but not heard. Didn't work very well with my two Have you ever come close to losing your rag with naughty children?
Chucky Mama
I wouldn't say that I loose my rag but I frequently tell other people's children off if they are really badly behaved or swearing/rude etc. Someone has to and their parents are often only too keen to turn a blind eye. I also tell grown up to pick up litter when they throw it on the floor . Could get myself beaten up one day. Ice cream or ice lolly?
bigmommasally
Ice Cream. Real Champagne or Cava or Asti?
Fizzle Knit
I had prosecco for the first time last week, and that was very pleasant. Overall i'm a non-real champagne person. City or country - where would you prefer to live, and do you now?
Looney
Country! Although I live in a city ( a small one) we're surrounded by countryside. Not a big city person. Lived in London for a few years and it definitely wasn't for me, I felt so hemmed in. What five things would you want with you on a desert island?
Olly
ooh, FIVE things! Actually, this is a tough one - I'm assuming mobile phones, yachts etc are not permitted! A sharp knife (for cooking) my glasses a radio a nail file - can't stand having broken or rough nails a pillow - don't fancy sleeping on the sand. If you could meet someone from history, who would it be?
Valkyrie
Albert Einstein - I think he was a real sweetie, plus I liked Physics at school (was rubbish at it, but that didn't matter). I liked tinkering with car engines too. Have you ever fixed your own car when parts broke down?
Lesley
Yes, I did a Cars for Women course.......a long time ago now........ Where would you like to be in 2 years time?
Space Chick
I could say living on a small holding with loads of chickens and other animals, but would need a lottery win for that. So I would realistically say exactly where I am now. I consider myself very blessed. I have a moderately sized home in a fabulous location (backing onto woodlands), have a great veg plot and my WIR is nearly finished. So I am pretty content Where would you like to be in 10 years? Valkyrie
In a smallholding just up the road from you Debs! Just kidding. I am looking for a smallholding anyway - 3 years from now, or so. Found a nice one the other day - then I looked at it on an ariel view and it's right on top of a railway thingy, so pooh to that. Too early yet, but it gives me an idea of the areas. Hopefully the children (I say children hah!) will have left home by then - DD wants to buy a house in Bournemouth with her friends to attend the uni there. One down . . . Are you happy with your house interior, or is there decorating on the cards?
Space Chick
There is decorating that needs to be done, but can't afford it right now (due to the money I've spent on the Walk in Run ) What can't you afford to do that needs to be done? (BTW Koojie, feel free to move down the road from me!! We could talk chickens in the evenings - although I think we already do that now! )
Valkyrie
Our driveway, some of which is shared - our neighbour got a quote from a friend and it was £20K just for the shared bit! All 3 of us are responsible for the upkeep. It's gravel and been worn away - doesn't help when the folks next door drive like lunatics on a very small space. You'd think it was a massive drive, but no, just a couple of yards. I could concrete it for less! Dad when he was young used to work with concrete, so knew exactly how to make the best and strongest. I have done work with it before. Would you DIY your own paths (which is what I did - and in the old house - crazy paving) or would you opt for someone else to do it?
theherd123
Opt for someone else. We did most of the renovations on our current house ourselves but big jobs like driveways we will happily pay for. Who will win todays match - Federer or Roddick?
Space Chick
Federer, I think Will you miss Wimbledon once its all finished.
Valkyrie
No, I got bored with non return of serves due to mega hitting - I haven't seen it since I was about 25. And I can't stand all that rediculous grunting and screaming. I would have been if DD was there - she was invited to work there via the college, but couldn't because she isn't 18 yet (would have looked good on a CV). I've never needed a modern "CV" - have you had to provide one at all?
