Griffin
I've seen white Aras so yours isn't some freaky genetic throwback All very healthy looking birds
wombatally
Fee, dare I ask what you will do with the Pekin boys? I have some too and wondered if they will be too small for the pot. Thanks!
feemcg
Griffin, the white comes under 'very rare' from the info I've found when googling.....I just wasn't expecting white....and neither was the chap that gave me the eggs, lol...typically, looks like it'll be a boy wombat sally the boys will be offered on a couple of forums and if no one wants them will be put to sleep I'm afraid. wombatally
Hmm, that's what will probably happen to mine to, although OH is convinced if you can make a meal of a pigeon... My Gold Partridge Pekins have thrown out two pure white ones too - must be a genetic thing - way over my head (they are a nice surprise though!). They are all lovely, especially the favs... feemcg
The fav girls are the softest chicks I've ever felt......and so friendly and curious. A Pic of the Arau's I forgot about
Egluntyne
The white araucana is very pretty.
The Dogmother
I have awhite araucana and she's the prettiest thing ever, laying greeny eggs rather than blue. It's a quite rare throwback in the breeding and not of show standard, so they get sold on. Araucanas are usually late to develop their face furniture and 'sex up'. I love the little pekin boy - so cute. Wish I were nearer - if he was a quiet crower, I might chance him.
feemcg
He is cute Clare, the other 2 Pekin boys aren't so developed.....but he does have a peck at me and gets a swift tap on the beak, lol. Funny the only chicks ever to have pecked me are bantams....the Frizzles did it too. If I thought any of them would be quiet I would keep one to keep the wee girl company....I think she'll need a friend as she'd be on her own with the big girls. The Dogmother
Best see how the boys develop them Fee. I love pekins, despite their tendency to go broody; it's their bossy 'Pat Butcher' personality that I like. That one is a wee sweetie
