Yolky
I have heard that red is the least popular colour for eglus/cubes. I am not sure why as I *love* my red eglu and if I were ever to upgrade to a cube I would, most likely, go for a red one. When I was at the Bath and West show they had a red eglu, a green cube and a lilac rablu. They also had glugs/grubs in all the other colours too. After seeing all the colours like that it just confirmed to me that I personally think the red one is best and, surprisingly, I like the lilac second best (not normally a lilac fan but it was lovely). I wonder why red is so unpopular? Any ideas?

ubereglu
I quite liked the red when I saw it, and was less keen on the purple than I thought I would be as it was so dark-Really liked the lilac and the blue though.

Sarahw12
I liked the red a lot, but the reason I didn't choose it was because of that thing about chickens being programmed to peck red things- I thought it would be a bit mean to surround them in redness! Does it not apply to houses?
Yolky
ATSW I love how you have your eglus. If I am ever lucky enough to get another one I am going to do that with mine, it looks Sarahw12, I read that after I had ordered mine and was a little worried, however I have had no issues with it at all. I have never seen them peck at their eglu or the outside of their glug/grub. Maybe that is why some people don't order it though, after reading the red/pecking thing. Good to see lots of red eglu fans on the thread
atsw
ATSW I love how you have your eglus. If I am ever lucky enough to get another one I am going to do that with mine, it looks .I does, doesn't it? Sadly they are not my Eglu's, they belong to Helly Welly. However, like you, I think that is a totally fab idea and I shall, unashamedly, be copying it when I can get my hands on either a or to go with my . I'm planning on a kind of tower block. I've got a table which will go over the existing , and the new / will sit on top of the table, with a ladder to go from the ground to the first floor. I'll then interchange the door and poop tray, just like Helly Welly did. That's the plan, just need the chicks to hatch on Thursday now. Watch this space . Torrin
I've got a and I think it looks great. Hadn't even occoured to me about the chickens pecking red thing until reading this but I've had no problems. Think they'd sit and poo over the ladder whatever colour it was!!
