Got myself a puppy! PHOTOS ADDED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

Sitting hiding behind me at the moment is a 3.5 month old Lhasa Apso puppy called Yogy!

Picked him up today and he is a huge great ball of fluff.

His kennel name is Mytileng Go Yogy and I met his mum, dad and grandfather today all of which are shown but Yogy wont be so he will get clipped soon!

I have some photos of him so will get them on here soon. He is black with some white/cream.

Totally new to this so watch out for lots of dog questions.

Here are some piccies, he has already been to the poochie parlour to scissor some of his hair off as it was a bit out of control!

I have taught him to sit and lay down but he WILL NOT walk on the lead so advice welcomed. Its all QuickClucks fault as she has a Lhasa called Cooper and he is gorgeous. Husband still yet to be won round by him but we're trying!

He is too gorgeous :D

For the lead training a lot of the time when they are really young they are just so full of life and love that they are all over the place.

What I was taught to do at puppy class is if they pull you turn around and walk the other way until the lead goes loose, say 'heel' or whatever word you want to use, praise them, then turn and walk the way you were originally going. You feel like a bit of an idiot doing it and it does take a little extra time but usually gets the job done. :D

Thanks for the tips.

Problem isnt that he pulls on the lead - he simply wont walk on it just lays down as flat as possible on the floor and wont move!

Going to puppy training classes first at the vets and then at a local obedience training place.

Ah that old chestnut!:D I've seen quite a few puppies do that. None of mine have so I'm afraid I have no suggestions.
