Cooks
On saturday I test drove a Vauxhall Meriva and a Citroen C4 as I liked both models. I was looking for a Diesel so that ruled out a lot that were available so after a second test drive I opted for the Vauxhall Meriva not BRAND new but an 08 plate so almost, as it was slightly larger than the C4 and I just preferred the drive. I pick him up Thursday, all being well, he's black with black tinted windows at the back which I thought was great as one of my sons gets car sick if the sun comes through at him. Sorry just had to share my excitement, as I have saved all my wages for a new car for AGES!

Cooks
yes Kooey As his number plate starts KO0 and I said 'oooh that what I will call him' to hubby and it's stuck, he's not even here yet!
Chickvic
The car we have now was our first ever brand new car (he's nearly 3 now) and we were really excited too Can't help it He's called Arthur by the way!
Old Speckled Hen
Wonderful. Has it got that sexy new car smell? I have a diesel peugeot and I get nearly sixty miles to the gallon and £35 annual road tax I don't think It's the sort of car I could name. I do covet a VW camper and I'm trying to win one with Dorset Cereals ... some hope Now, such a camper would have to have a name
Cooks
The car we have now was our first ever brand new car (he's nearly 3 now) and we were really excited too Can't help it He's called Arthur by the way! The one I have how is a Citroen Picasso and like you I bought him brand spanking new, but the depreciation was so great I thought I would buy almost new and save a bit.. My current car is called Pablo! DA he's a year old so I dont have the new car smell, but I got it with my current car and had to put an airfreshner in there as it drove me mad.. When I get him I will take his picture, he is rather gorgeous! edited to add, I have just thought of another name for my new car.... Koo Koo Kachu! clootie
It has to be Alvin then Cooks !! Great news, congrats on the new motor - lucky girlie
chickencam
I have a Picasso and it is called 'the egg'. My OH hates it, because you need a six lane motorway to turn it round and a whole car park to park it in, the turning circle is pants . I quite like it, comfortable seats, high driving position etc. He has never forgiven me for not buying a Berlingo. I liked it but not as much as my Picasso, but with hind sight the Berlingo would have been a better car for our lifestyle, but it was my first new car and I wanted it to be a car. Congrats on the new car.

jackiepoppies
Congratulations Cookie, enjoy him. My Picasso is six years old now.......I would quite like a new car too, but I don't think I'll get one unless I win the lottery Jx
Redwing
Thats brill well done, tinted windows eh? break out the rap music madam! Do get it valeted though for the new car smell, my 8 month old car smells brand new when it has had a valet - fools me in to thinking there isn't really 26,000 miles on the clock
Space Chick
My car is called Einstein but it is a Smart car
Cooks
I love the name Alvin not sure hubs would though thanks Cloots, I would dearly love a car like yours though  Yes tinted windows at back and reart but more because it came with them than I requested them, but they are great for my OS who gets horribly sick in cars at times. so no rap music for me Chickencam - Yes that is the one thing I do not like about my picasso, the turning lock, shame as it lets the car down I think. I will be sad to see Pablo go, he's been a trusty friend He is the exclusive model so he has all the mod cons so when I looked for another car I couldn't get a basic one, it didn't feel right.. Tasha - it will come valeted and network q'd ect so I will have a good sniff when I pick him up. thanks everyone, I am stupidly excited, haven't been this excited since hubby bought me a shiny cherry red Citroen AX off the dealers showroom floor for me when I was his girlfriend. Hey, where do you find a BF to buy you a car? ? When I was first married in 1978 I used to drive hubby's brand new TR7 when he was away on assignments Little cars used to try to burn me off at traffic lights ... what fun .... I was very blond then
