No DD for a week

Recommended Posts

I went on grown ups version of your DD's trip many years ago and had a fantastic time. She will be so busy she won't have time to miss home!

LMW is off to Granpa's tommorrow for a week and she is really excited. I am looking forward to some peace :D ( I have to go to work but I'm on lates so will get the mornings to myself)

Your DD will have a fantastic time - enjoy the peace! :D

YS (15) is on his way back today from Lourdes - he has been away for 8 days - it is going to be an experience he never forgets and I believe that these types of trips add to their 'life experience' and give them an extra confidence and wholeness.

Don't think YS has enjoyed the 27 hr coach journey  and expect hiim to sleep for a day or two when he gets back. :D

Enjoy the peace and quiet while you can!

My two are due back at 4pm after a week's combined Scout and Cub camp, one as a Scout and one as a Young Leader with Cubs.

My husband keeps saying how much he misses them. I say they haven't been away long enough to miss them yet!

Anyway, as soon as they get back they'll start arguing with one another as usual, so the peace will be shattered. But it will only be for a week, then the oldest is off to Germany for a week with the Explorers.

Peace again!

Well Busybird, looks like you and me are in the same boat. OH took DD to his parents yesterday for a week of fun in Weymouth. OH is still there as he's fixing their computer. So i'm all alone and it's chucking it down so i can't even go shopping

Goodness knows what time he'll be back but he's told me to get myself something for tea.

OH is now on his way back from putting DD on a train to the depths of Wales at Swansea (he took DS1 and DS2 to a museum there after as he had to take a child along to qualify for family railcard fares so I have had a quiet day).

DD was instructed to ring when she was safely at the farm but didn't. I wasn't quite panicing when OH rang to say he had made contact with her and she was there and fine - just busy, surrounded by ponies and not really thinking about home...

I will keep busy and do some 'boy's stuff' with the other two while she is away. I will still miss her though.

My youngest has just got back from a week away with scouts. I really missed him, particularly when it was pouring with rain and cold as I thought of him sitting cold and wet in a tent. I needn't have worried as it only rained on them once briefly and he had the time of his life. He cooked for 30 kids pretty much single handed 3 times!! Not bad, he is only 11 AND he organised the others to clean up

She's near me then, I'm 8 miles away from Swansea :D

Its a lovely part of the world (when its not raining  )

Yes, come back when they are teenagers and chewing your ear off from the moment they wake up till the moment they go to bed. Honestly, if my DD's eyes are open, so is her mouth!!!:lol::lol:

ok, love her madly all the same

My DD's mouth even flaps in her sleep..........:lol:

DD & DS are both away for the weekend...him as a "displaced" scout (he's away at boarding school termtime so doesn't belong to the troop any more :( ) and her as a Cub..at the same small site, so hopefully they are behaving :roll: They'll come back bitten to bits, but full of tales tomorrow...3 whole days and nights of no kidlings....chooks, chicks & hounds fill the space admirably!!!
