Delia is missing!

Recommended Posts

:( Our beautiful little brown nick Delia is missing. She is the sweetest most placid hen we have, an absolute darling.

Yesterday morning very early I was woken by a friend to say she had seen a white hen on the road adjacent to the house. I got up and went to investigate and found one of the Kray twins (Felicity Sussex Star) walking down the road. After a few near missess from cars I finally caught up with her and marched her back to the run. None of the other hens were in the garden area but when they heard me the appeared from the woodland adjacent to the house. I put them all back in the walk in run and closed them off. Delia was missing. I looked over the wall into the woodland and there she was. She is too small to fly back up and I knew I would have to climb over the wall and get her.

It was raining very hard and I was ill attired to climb over the pooey wall and into the overgrown woods so I thought I'd go back for her a little later. After a cup of tea I dressed suitably and went in to get her but she'd gone, no sign of her anywhere. I feel so bad as I could have got her earlier but didn't.

This is the second night without her and I feel terrible. DD is very upset too.

After extensive searches of the area, ringing up others with hens, the local vets, the rspca and putting up notices there is no sign of her. :(

As each day passess we are less optomistic and may have to come to terms with her loss. :(

im soooo sorry :( , stranger things have happened so will keep fingers crossed for now :pray:
